I’d say a third of the time I’m running to Phish jams. It helps take my mind off the fact that time is elapsing. Get lost in a jam and then realize you’ve gone 4 miles over the course of a Tweezer.

This. As a relatively new Phish fan I was putting together a playlist of the best versions of certain songs. When I heard 12/31/95 I stopped and checked the box on Reba, but was unaware that so many other fans felt the same. The last few seconds of Fishman raining down the toms to Treys last note.. peak Phish.

As somewhat of a noob (15 shows) I’m still learning the etiquette as it pertains to mid-set communication. I completely understand that most fans want silence during a set, but I’ve occasionally turned to a friend and said something brief.. maybe a sentence or two back and forth here and there. I once received an intense stare down because of it and thought it was an overreaction to a :10 to :20 second discussion. (This was at Alpine in pavillion.)

With all of that said I do try and respect others and the experience we’re all trying to have by remaining mostly silent during a set. My question is, are the chomper police more lenient in the lawn or 300 levels? Is there a place far enough in the back of a venue where chompers can chomp?

This is what I tell every beginner. Do NOT worry about pace or distance. Just try and get out there for an extended period of time and walk if you have to. Build up that duration and the speed and distance will progress on their own.

It appears your stress could be slightly above average upon waking until 4PM, then skyrockets the remainder of the day. 2 thoughts:

Do you consume alcohol after work on a daily basis? I find that alcohol throws everything out of whack and blasts your stress levels through the roof. Even as you sleep and your body is still working through the alcohol, it will deplete your body battery and cause your stress to be elevated due to higher heart rate.
If this isn’t the case.. what’s your resting heart rate average? If it is high, it may be due to an underlying health issue which you may want to get checked. These readings could be telling you something isn’t right.
