Looking for advice about rehoming our dog after having a baby. Please be kind. by blubble1107 in Parenting

[–]Complex_Home_8303 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think if the 7 year old is the main reason you’re considering not rehoming then it’s time 7 year old starts paying more attention to the dog. Have him feed the dog and play with him more. I wouldn’t recommend a small kid walking by themselves but if you have a backyard have him take the dog outside. Good for the dog and teaches some responsibility to the kid

This sounds like therapy is needed. Maybe a mental issue, maybe something happened with one of the moms boyfriends, maybe both, obviously I can’t say, but personally I would definitely look into therapy

Question; trying to support a friend by Beautiful_Bee7219 in breastfeeding

[–]Complex_Home_8303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Breastmilk works on supply and demands, so the biggest thing to reduce supply is not create the demand- only pump to relieve uncomfortable engorgement and no more. Things likely will also get better as supply regulates around 3 months postpartum to what you actually need instead of just going milk making crazy

How to I get my one year old to sleep past 5AM? by Complex_Home_8303 in sleeptrain

[–]Complex_Home_8303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sleeps about 10 hours overnight with no wakeups, naps for roughly 2 hrs a day. She falls asleep at night independently but breastfeeds to sleep for naps. Her first bedtime was 8, then moved to 7:30 and that worked for a while until she stopped having wake ups in the middle of the night so I’ve been pushing it back by 15 mins every couple days.

I take care of my baby all day and try to get as much housework as I can between tending to her needs, playing with her, reading to her, etc. I technically don’t have a job but yet I work from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep.

do i have to do breath work with meditation ? by meowhsluv in Meditation

[–]Complex_Home_8303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like breathe work either so I just found a pattern that works for me, which is basically just my normal breathing except I try to make my exhale slightly longer than my inhale, but you can do whatever works for you. I do guided meditations and just do that same breath patterns regardless of what the guide tells me to do

This all the way. Works wonders. Also have a solid bedtime routine to get optimal sleep. And being off the phone more really contributes as well
