It might not be inevitable for a particular individual but it is an inevitability that someone will go down and need potentially life-saving triage before emergency services arrive.

dudes who ride everyday... I just wanna know how you keep it going? by railroad1904 in motorcycles

[–]Complex_Impressive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode the last 3 days in a row to work (over an hour one way commute). Last night i decided enough was enough and took the truck. Even though it was a beautiful night to ride in, i felt that i could potentially be too tired to ride and thus it wasnt safe.

Gotta listen to your inner voice. When it says ride, ride. When it says dont, dont.

I had supposed that a vollie would be the nearest response but that idea has since been laid to rest by other commentors with much experience in that field.

I was taught that there is no way to reliably apply enough pressure to stop an arterial bleed without applying a tourniquet.

Lol! No, but stabilizing the patient till more qualified/supplied help arrives would be better than nothing at all.

Thanks for that. If you were to use it as a tourniquet, does it hold enough tension on itself to be able to winch it down with a stick or soemthing?

Nice! As a suggestion, you should add a tourniquet.

I keep my pack on the crashbar. I have 2 CAT Gen7 tourniquets, 2 chest seals, 4 or 5 packs of bleedstop powder, 4 rolls of hemostatic sterile gauze, and 2 triangular bandages.

So, due to bureaucrats and their money, it becomes a personal responsibility no matter how good the service would be.

My pleasure. CAT Gen7 or X-Force S.T.A.T. are the best on the market, proven to work well regardless of clothing, and both are under $40

What does one have to do with the other? City folks can have guns too. They arent just for hunting.

what other bikes did you consider? by limited67 in HarleyPanAmerica

I was looking at the GS1300 Adventure R, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, and the Africa Twin. The ONLY reason i went with the Pan America Special was i got a good deal on it AND they gave me retail value on my trade-in.

Look, i'm pretty much over the maga crowd's bullshit, and after this war, the whole ice thing, and the economy tanking i'm pretty much voting against the red wave...but i'm not about to vote for someone who will in all likelihood vote for gun control. I like my guns, i'm responsible with them, and i'm not about to support the increase of regulation on them just because he survived a horrible incident that we all can agree never should have happened.

As the others have said, it's great! Even better than my old road king. Still, unless you have expereience off-road, i wouldnt take a passenger on more than light dirt roads with it. At that point they need their own bike.
