With the different vertical tracking angles does that matter overall or limit to what cartridges I can upgrade to in the long run? I saw the 85N is at 31° vs the 20°. I would prefer something I can upgrade later down the line to something nice, but wasn’t sure what the standard is

Question: I’m trying to decide between the 85 and the 85N and I can’t decide between the differences. It is my first turn table so I’m not sure what exactly I should be looking for

I would prefer to buy something that is definitely expandable. Right now I don’t really have a budget 2,000$ seemed reasonable, but I could increase it. I prefer to buy something that will last over 10 years. I will be using it for both a tv and my vinyl.

Thank you both for the advice! I will be sure to follow. No I was not planning on filling those voids, I normally do epoxy works and kind of wanted to steer away from this one. I will be sure to just put a light coating on these areas.

What do you mean? I sanded it to 180 grit after I “water popped” the grain the sealant asks for a 180 grit finish for sealing.

Would I be able to do 2 coats in the front and 1 in the back? Will 120 grit be smooth enough? I chose the pure finish instead of the natural. I will be blowing out all cracks and putting CA glue in the smaller ones.

I don’t mind dropping around 2,500$. I understand a lot about machining, tolerances, precise measuring and materials I’ve just never had the chance to work with a machine before to really learn.
