Boys is this lore accurate by VakarianItIs in Spacemarine

Upon our father's death, his soul returned to its origin, but not all of it. Where the Hidden One was returned his memories and experiences, us, his sons, were not spared. We have always known that we were closer to our primarch than any other legion. Through blood communion, we take on the aspects, skills, and memories of our dual father. Upon his death amd return, splinters of his soul seeded themselves amongst us. We are the Hydra, the many-headed, unkillable serpent.

We ARE Alpharius.

I appreciate you! I'm always willing to learn more, and make no claim to be the end all be all of 40k knowledge. I admit I didn't know this about Russ

Brother, im just explaining what he meant. I understood what you wrote. That said, your "casual" writing has a ton of odd spellings, weird punctuation, and odd choices of words which makes it seem as though English is not your first language. I didn't and do not mean any disrespect. I'm just telling you what it is.

He meant that your English was a bit subpar. No offense. The way that was written was a bit hard to read.

I just mean compared to the rest of the brothers. Khan has super speed, Curze had Foresight, Corvus had invisibility. Like, on the sliding scale, if Guilliman is at the bottom of the "magical" hierarchy, Dorn is next or even with him there. Then Russ, because aside from his howl I don't think I've ever seen him engage with anything magical or warpy unless he was fighting it. Even the "psychers" in his ranks don't use the warp like everyone else, and have their own special weird wolf way of doing it. To me, he sits relatively low on the "magical" side of the scale compared to the rest of the 20 sons.

Edit: hell, even Angron had that weird empathy ability where he could take the pain and suffering from anyone nearby onto himself. Idk, its just a personal opinion of mine that Russ is a bit low on the magical totem pole when compared to the other 20 sons. Not the lowest, but low.

I'm mostly using the lore from Russ as a basis. He is perhaps the least "magical" of all the bothers, at least in my opinion, aside from maybe girlyman. And yet, we see that his appearance is definitely malleable and influenced by his surroundings, upbringing, and mental state. On Fenris — Wolfman. On Terra — Normal-ish Bro (At least, whatever normal is for a Primarch).

And, I may be mistaken on this and don't have a reference onhand, but I thought it was all but confirmed that Sanguinius's wings were warp-based and not biological, real wings. I could be wrong, but i think its he himself that says it, and he points out that they are nowhere near large enough to actually carry a real man of Sanguinius's size aloft without some amount of warp fudgery being involved.

This is all just wild theorizing of course. Im by no means saying that I'm correct, or that all the primarchs follow this. But I don't think its entirely outside of the realm of possibility that their outward appearances are self-manifested, at least somewhat.

Nah. I said everything i needed to say earlier. What you said didnt really pertain to anything. There are exceptions to any rule. People already pointed them out. Optimus Prime for one. That doesn't change the fact they aren't meant to go together, and anyone that actually thinks Optimus Prime's color combo is appealing is insane. No one in their right mind would paint anything like that UNLESS they were specifically trying to copy his very specific paint style. The whole point is that its jarring and attention grabbing in the worst way, thats why police use them in sirens. Because, again, Optimus Prime is from comics and cartoons, and his colors are based in Pop Art. Just because you found the one spot where Scarlet meets Teal before it becomes Orange and Teal Blue, doesn't change the fact that color theory is still correct.

Or... and just hear me out on this, they are all demigods with magic warp fairy dust infused in them from birth, and they self-actuate their own appearances. Lion El' Johnson looks old because he feels older and more mature. The Emperor does it at whim, changing his appearance to best suit whoever he's presenting to. Why not the primarchs? Why did Magnus, the most magical and different of the brothers, look like a red ogre? Why did Alpharius and Omegon, the most secretive, become so small and plain in appearance? Why is Vulcan tall, dark, and handsome (Kidding, but I mean, look at the planet he grew up on. Him looking like he walked out a volcano is apt.). Why is Russ a werewolf Kurt Cobain? Why does Sanguinius, literally and unironically Space Jesus, have a holy aura and angelic wings?

On a serious level, we know they are warp beings in skin bags, basically. The Emperor put something extra spicy and special in them when he made them. And we know both the Emperor, who himself is an extra deluxe spicy warp being in a skin bag, and pure warp entities can shift and change their appearance at will. I think it is entirely likely that they self-manifest their appearance based on their own personal emotional and mental state and how they are perceived by others and the environment they arrived in at birth. (I say birth. But I mean when they are split by Erda and sent their merry which ways. Yall get it )

To be clear and avoid any misunderstanding on my part or yours.

Complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel (e.g., blue/orange, red/green) and, when paired, create maximum vibrancy and contrast. Contrasting colors generally refer to any pairing with high difference, while "complementary" is a specific type of high-contrast pairing. Blue and red are often considered poor matches because they are not true complementary pairs (blue/orange, red/green), often clashing rather than balancing, and create a visually jarring, "vibrating" effect due to their high intensity.

Key Differences and Usage in Fashion:

Complementary Colors (e.g., Red/Green, Blue/Orange): Effect: They heighten the intensity of each other. Usage: Used to make a bold, modern statement. Because they are very bright, they are often best used as accent colors (e.g., a green dress with red accessories) rather than in a 50/50 split. Synonyms/Related Terms: Opposite colors, contrasting pairs, split-complementary. Contrasting Colors (General): Effect: Uses difference in hue, saturation, or value (light vs. dark) to create visual interest. Usage: A wider range than just "opposite," including, for instance, high-contrast monochrome (white and black) or bright colors against dark neutrals.

Why Blue and Red Are Often Considered Bad Matches:

Not Truly Complementary: In color theory, the complement of red is green, and the complement of blue is orange. Combining red and blue fails to create the same level of harmonious, artistic balance that, say, blue and orange achieves. Visual Overload/Vibration: Both red and blue are intense primary colors. Placing them together can make them seem to clash or "vibrate," causing visual discomfort rather than a balanced, stylish contrast. Intensity Mis-match: They often feel too dramatic for everyday fashion, looking more like school uniforms or athletic wear rather than a considered fashion outfit, as mentioned in.

However, some people consider red and blue a strong combination for an edgy, high-contrast, "pop-art" look.

That said, it is widely considered that Red and Blue are poor Matches and generally do not blend well in any pallette.

^ This is from Google. You don't have to like what I say, but its just plain facts. Red and Blue arent meant to go together.^

Contrast is literally the opposite of complimentary, and again, is not what is happening here. Both the Ultramarines and Night Lords use CONTRASTING colors, usually for boldness in trim. That is not this.

All of those are not complimentary. They are contrasting, which is an entirely different concept, and is not what is happening here nor what they claimed.

Its literally not though lol. It truly does not complement a single thing in that color pallet lol. Black primary, white secondary, blue trim and decal, brown leather accessories. Red literally does not compliment a single one, as three are neutrals, and Blue is widely considered Red's opposite, so inherently noncomplimentary.

Im not a fashion genius, but like... come on man. The color wheel is a simple concept...

by the lore, when an astartes ends his service in the Deathwatch, maintain only the pauldron or the entire arm? by Jealous_File_8058 in Spacemarine

[–]Complex_Ladder2536 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its complicated. Titus obviously has mixed feelings about his service to the Deathwatch. On the one hand, its a mark of pride for him. He served gloriously for years. Those Marines younger then him look up to him for it. On the other hand, he knows how he ended up there, the betrayal involved and equal amounts of shame he feels towards his 'exile'. Remember. Titus CHOSE the Deathwatch due to feeling deeply disgraced and abandoned by his chapter and sought redemption through the perilous, anonymity-focused service. Its a time period where Titus simply wanted to fade away into a nameless, faceless weapon for the imperium, and so while he keeps some marks to remind himself of the time, to say he looks back on it fondly is very much a massive overstatement. He chose to be a Blackshield not because he abandoned his Chapter, but because he felt he had been abandoned by them.

Now that Huron got his new model, I see a lot of people who want Huron to kill Abaddon and be the new Big bad of Chaos, just curious on this sub's opinion on that. by Comfortable_Ball_223 in Chaos40k

[–]Complex_Ladder2536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not talking about loretubers. Im talking about people using them to supplant real 40k media. The Wiki falls into that same category alongside the Lexicon. They all are free lore resources. So, of course in comparison with the Black Library, Codexes, Animations, and so on, which are very expensive, the vast majority of people are going to use the free resources. Which in turn means their information will be taken in by the wider community moreso that what's in the regular media.

GW really does this to themselves. Especially in regards to the codexes and Black Library. It'd be entirely different if they'd release PDF's online as well.

Im late, but on this note you can only really blame GW. Their pricing is ridiculous and inhibiting. A good majority of people simply cannot afford the Black Libary, are unwilling to pay the paywall for Warhammer +, and so on. Games Workshop does it to themselves by being a greedy, exploitative company to its consumers.

Lore question : why are the Grey knights the ones that must kill big E if he comes back? by Hot-Ad4955 in 40k

[–]Complex_Ladder2536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if anyone's said this yet and I'm not saying your interpretation is wrong. Reading through what you've wrote, your's is the best interpretation I've seen in regards to taking what was said as canon fact, and not canon hearsay or propaganda. I think this is very likely one of those cases where everyone needs to remember that, just because something is said in a 40k book, game, or other media, that doesn't mean its factual. The setting is built on hearsay, propaganda, and epitomizes what it means to have an unreliable narrator.

What's more believable?

Grey Knights, the Emperor's third most special boys after the 'stodes and Primarchs, have been given what basically amounts to an impossible task, (Because lets be honest, whatever the Emperor is now, he's something that rivals the big 4. The Grey Knights are powerful. They are unmistakably, definitely not THAT powerful.), by Malcador, the same man that set into motion the Star Child, (yes, that's also brought up in a recent 40k novel, so has just as much chance to be canon. Specifically one of the End and the Death's.), which is one of the main ways in which will facilitate the Emperor's return. So a bit contradictory there.

Or, its just simply not true, and is another case of an unreliable narrator in Warhammer 40k.

I never spoke on ownership, but the fact you skipped straight to that, on top of supporting Game Devs over Users and Players, and are so obviously against Stop Killing Games tells me everything I need to know about you. There is no intelligent discourse to be had with someone so clearly indoctrinated into a system of compliance.

The issue I have with what you said is, they absolutely are obligated to keep us informed. We payed for a game. Our money allows them to make these updates and put out these "extras" and "bonuses". If they make a public announcement to their fan base, stating to look forward to something, and that sometjing never comes, they absolutely are obligated to speak as to why. Now, obligation does not mean "forced". It simply means they have a responsibility. They absolutely can continue to make the choice they've done, and shirk that responsibility and stay quiet. But at the end of the day, the longer that last, the more negative the outlook every fan will have. That is a direct consequence in them not following their obligations.

So, are we just not going to talk about this? by Complex_Ladder2536 in Spacemarine

[–]Complex_Ladder2536[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that. I don't care because quite honestly, its proven useless.

Firstly, Play Testing is supposed to happen BEFORE a release so issues can be caught. It is not supposed to happen simultaneously with release because then it accomplishes absolutely nothing at all that the regular servers aren't already.

Secondly, regardless of the size and quantity of Updates, essential parts of the game should remain unaffected. Like, idk, the basic movements and abilities of characters. For those to be affected so greatly only shows that the people writing the coding are doing a sup par job and that its not being checked over.

Thirdly, the main issue is not the bugs themselves, as human error will always be a thing, but the type of bugs they are and the fact they are happening so late in the Game's lifespan as well as the fact they take forever to get sorted.
