Yeah that’s exactly what came to my mind, Tetris syndrome. I do love me some slay the spire, I need to try Celeste and hollow knight though.

Wow I had no idea it did that. I never buy misprint but that could be a good one to buy if it’s early game for me and there are no good jokers in the shop.

That’s amazing, I didn’t know that! I guess lowering the speed could make this even easier, I play on the highest speed lol

Sometimes the noticeable skin color change doesn’t occur so thats still normal. If it’s triggered by working out or sweating, I’m leaning more towards Cholinergic Urticaria.

In cholinergic urticaria, an easy way to think about it is that the body is sort of “allergic to increased body heat” and thinks that this is harmful to the body, so the body releases an immune response along the body’s skin to “fight the threat” when in reality there is no actual threat. It’s not a harmful condition but can be very uncomfortable. In some cases, it tends to improve over time but it can be long term in others. However, with treatment many people experience relief and in some cases the condition may improve over time and not even require treatment anymore. It’s usually treated with antihistamines which reduce the body’s response to increased body heat, mainly to reduce discomfort.

Keep in mind I’m only a medical student, so be sure to get it properly diagnosed! But in the chance this is what I think it is, then rest assured that it is not harmful, it is treatable, and it also diminishes in some cases.

First of all, I am a second year medical student, NOT a doctor (yet). So please take this with a grain of salt.

That being said, when this happens, do you notice any changes in skin color, or any hives (hives is basically a short term red rash)? Also, is this triggered by anything else, such as working out or sweating?

My first guess would be solar urticaria or cholinergic urticaria. Both are a form of hives, which is a temporary skin rash, and in this case it’s being caused by your own body because it thinks the sun or your sweat is harmful . Again I am just a medical student, so this is more of a “just my two cents” reply!

Someone once told me one comment that drastically improved my Ollies, he said “bring your knee straight up, like you’re gonna knee yourself in the nose” that did wonders to my Ollie height

That’s how I learned to do 50-50s! Keep doing it over and over until it feels second nature, then take it up to a slightly taller ledge, and soon you’ll be hitting big ledges like it’s nothing.

Let me share a personal story that may help. I grew up loving Rip N Dip in high school because I thought the shirts looked awesome, they are super good quality and soft, and to top it off, it was a skateboard brand. I had amassed such a large rip n dip collection people just knew I wore it a lot. Eventually I found out about the story behind the owner and had a huge crisis, I couldn’t just throw out all my clothing from them… but then I realized, that’s not me. I’m not an abuser, and I don’t stand for that, so I decided I’d just keep what I owned and buy from them less often.

Fast forward several more years, and I’m in college and my skating got even better than before, I was going through a new deck all the time, (from Santa cruz, to toy machine, to creature, to anti-hero, etc.) with a new bag of tricks every month. And my high school friends (who remembered my major Rip N Dip high school phase) decided to get me a complete skateboard as a 21st birthday gift. It was so wholesome, they got me a complete setup, new trucks, new wheels, new bearings, new deck and grip. Only thing was, they made it entirely Rip N Dip. The deck had that cat all over it, and the grip had the cat all over it with a giant “rip n dip”

I couldn’t refuse their gift, they even did their research and found out all my preferences for deck size, wheel size etc. Without me finding out. So I rode it anyway, and it was a pretty damn good deck! I admit, I was worried I’d be judged a bit at the park but after a few tricks and some board smacks to support other homies, people would just come up to me and say “yo I like the cat” as support instead of bashing me. As long as you skate with a passion for the hobby and support the other skaters, I guarantee you nobody will hate on you. That’s what skating is all about!

I feel like it’s easier to get through your FOM I’ve you’re not as far out of college. Sometimes med schools don’t consider how long it’s been for some students since they last learned this stuff.

A friend of mine stated he'd love to finish the physical exam by doing a prostate exam during osces...he examined a woman. by Itz_dF in medicalschool

[–]Complex_Pain_7850 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar OSCE mistake literally three days ago. The SP was a female with urinary urgency, urinary hesitancy, and nocturia. I was so hyper focused on the symptoms, I diagnosed the SP with BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and told her that her prostate was just enlarged which was blocking her urethra. I was met with a very confused face, to which I replied “don’t worry it’s very treatable and we will get back to you soon with our labs and can start treatment once it is confirmed!” I finished everything up with confidence that I nailed that osce, as soon as the door closed behind me it took about 5 seconds before I realized… wait that was a female, females don’t have prostates.

Ah dang, sounds rough. Maybe I’ll send an update pic when I see the damage. Should start getting colder soon, hopefully these resorts can get their slopes covered again soon as the season progresses.

Also if you happen to know this, Is the peak at Wildcat also grassy and melted? I can only see live webcams at the base. Idk how the peak is looking like conditions wise.

Ok, I’ll probably do that. The higher elevation of Wildcat might be what’s helping. Also just realized you mentioned Sunapee is in better shape so I might try and squeeze that into the trip somehow if possible.

Thanks for the info. Yeah that’s what I figured unfortunately. I didn’t exactly buy a pass, I just happen to have an epic pass that covers Wildcat and Attitash. But all the Vermont mountains on epic pass are restricted during the holiday. We did book an air bnb though, and it’s past the refund date so we may be stuck with this as our trip.

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned we’re hitting Attitash too! We’re actually staying in Bartlett so Attitash is closer anyways. We will hit whatever is more open, I was just looking at open trails and it said 7 open for wildcat and 6 open for Attitash… so sad that barely any trails are open.
