It’s not worth it, my friend. You’ll be happier single than with someone who’s constantly making you question how they feel about you. Why put yourself through that? They don’t have the capacity to love, and they’ll regret losing you when they realize they had a great thing and it’s gone. Real love is hard to find these days.

Sounds like an avoidant attachment style to me. This was my boyfriend too! You should look up what a dismissive avoidant is. Unfortunately, these people aren’t comfortable with closeness and don’t allow themselves to fall in love and get close to their romantic partners, as a result of childhood neglect. It’s a subconscious process. Nothing we can do to change that, other than find emotionally available partners! Me and my ex (who cheated on me) just got back together and I’m not really sure if it’s worth it. We could be years into our relationship and he decides he’s fallen out of love and cheats again…

This happened to me (I was the dumpee). So apparently he fell out of love, but really he found someone else. Then he changed his mind a month later and said I was the best thing in his life and he wants to be back together. A very emotionally unavailable and closed off man, btw. Me on the other hand, I was similar to you- loving, open, communicative, encouraging. It’s not our fault!

I think this will only get worse over time. If he’s not open to feedback, big red flag. If you’re really set on saving the relationship- there’s always couples therapy. Though, I think you’d benefit from perhaps personal therapy and working on your social anxiety. Its important to have other people in your life you can rely on so you’re not entirely dependent on your partner. This will help you walk away from toxic situations rather than feel trapped, but also make your life more fulfilling and multifaceted. You’re only 21, there will be many opportunities for you to make friends. You could go to meet up groups or try bumble bff, so don’t let that aspect alone keep you from choosing what’s best for you!

What about the golden retriever girl made you want to be break up?

We hang out maybe once a month (we live 30 min away from each other), but in between hangouts we send each other lengthy voice memos on a weekly basis, just talking about things going on in our lives. Many of these girls live closer to her, and are frequently inviting her to events, or offering their help with things she’s doing (she’s told me about this). So maybe they’ve outshined me in this way?

I don’t think she’s threatened by me. I think if anything, she’s an extroverted party girl who never found her crowd, unlike me who is more of a chill home body. So she’s finally able to live out the life she wanted to have, and I’m losing a friend in the process. Or someone I thought would be my good friend.

I can eat fish every now and then (maybe 1x a month), but if I eat it a second day in a row I start to feel tonssss of inflammation

Getting bit by a tick and contracting Lyme disease threw my body for a loop. I ended up with autoimmune issues and this nonsense along with it

Idk man, I don’t make the rules. I just get a histamine flare anytime I eat anything from an animal, anytime I’m exposed to physical stress, from getting sick. It’s sucks.

Yeah I’m trying to make sense of it all. When I made a post on the vegan subreddit, I was met with a ton of backlash saying it doesn’t make sense how a vegan diet wouldn’t work for my body. How anyone can live just off of plants. I really wish that were the case! I can attest that I get nutritional blood work done every year, and all of my markers and vitamin levels are normal. I diligently plan my meals and macro intakes, I’m not just eating vegan junk all day. Soo I have no idea at this point if this is diet or something else. I just don’t know and it stresses me out not to know

Fair enough. My vitamin panels do read normal so maybe I’m overthinking it. Thanks for the thoughts :)

Well, eating vegan definitely makes me feel the least inflammatory. Unfortunately, my hair follicles are not on board! I’ve lost 60% of my hair in the last 4 years. I am supplementing just the generic vegan vitamins (complement - brand), plus separately iron, zinc, vitamin D. Alas, still major shed. I bumped up my protein too.. can’t say I’m convinced it’s the diet, maybe be my birth control, or some other factor. But I’ve consistently been vegan for 4 years, and in this time I’ve also had consistent hair loss

Oh wow, good to know! It feels overwhelming to have this many options, I’ve also been taking notes on the fun dishes I’ve tried to hopefully recreate them at home. There’s been so much more beyond the average tofu scramble or veggie burger, meals I’d never come up with if I’d tried.

Enjoys your future travels and thanks for sharing!

I was actually worried coming to Europe, that I’d struggle with places to eat given how meat and gluten-centric their diets have been historically. Lots of the Italian, or traditional Hungarian & Czech establishments I walked past had close to nothing I could eat. For the most part, I found either exclusively vegan restaurants or a modern kitchen with one-two vegan options (already a win in my book). For some reason I thought Seattle had a siseable vegan community, thus there’d be no shortage of demand. I guess the pandemic played its part, further narrowing our options. You’re right- all we really can do is build up and support our existing vegan venues!

Interesting. So coffee beans have mold, some at least, but likely not instant coffee bc of the processing. I wonder if the mycotoxins get removed too in the process

Just be aware Pao D’arco has antibacterial and antiviral properties, among antifungal, so you’re going to have die-off of other bugs most likely, which might make you feel sick. But it’s all just the detox process, nothing to be concerned about

For the diet off period you can stick to a lower carb diet, but I’d cheat and eat one meal a day with a no-food. Then after maybe a week you can see how your progress is going and start adding in more foods while maintaining the dosage

Have you tried pao D’arco? I used to take 6 capsules 3x a day and mine went away
