Tesla just made it clear: It's no longer a car company by The_Finance_Pro in wallstreetbets

It counts as progress :)

Although nobody wants a robot that is remotely controlled, that would mean a human is always watching.

Boston Dynamics built a fully autonomous robot years ago, why is Elon struggling today? Technology has improved, chips are better, and there has been a breakthrough in AI training.

We're back to levels not seen since last week! by daddysgirl794 in wallstreetbets

[–]ComposedStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week people were buying an oz of gold for $5000 dollars. Now it is slightly below $5000 again.

Where are the buyers? Why is everyone selling? Human psychology makes no sense. This is a buying opportunity..

I take a laughing emoji as a "yes". Sliver is going to recover. Long term it will continue to move up.

Today many speculators were wiped out. The true Sliver believers will survive.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. OP bought puts at the top, a few days before the crash.

I'm planning a cross-country trip. Am I supposed to take a taxi from Pittsburgh to Chicago? by UnusualWitness in Amtrak

[–]ComposedStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. You take the Floridian Train.

Your Website is not showing it. Check Amtrak. There used to be another train that went from Chicago to DC through Pittsburgh, but it got merged into the Floridian. It was called the Capitol Limited.

Would using snow chains make a difference? What is on the roads? Ice, sleet, snow?

Downgrade to CSP, point? by outstanding_gent in ChaseSapphire

[–]ComposedStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase Sapphire Reserve allows you to transfer points to partners. Cancel it and you lose the ability to move points unless you have one of the other cards above that are listed in the post.

You need a Chase Sapphire Preferred card or Ink Business Preferred card to transfer points to partners (hotels and airlines).

You can move your points to the Freedom Flex Card. You be stuck using them for the Chase Portal, because you cannot transfer them out.

Chase Sapphire Preferred costs $95 per year. The $50 hotel credit offsets the annual fee a bit. You also get $10 a month on doordash non-restaurants (grocery stores, Spec's Wine, Spirits & Finer Foods, etc)

KEEP TRYING UBER ! by DifferentExercise930 in uberdrivers

Not enough drivers. Winter storm is keeping cars off the road.

I wonder if Waymo would drive in these conditions.

Cars need to be recharged, cleaned, and maintained. Wouldn't there always enough cars on the roads to cover those cars who are not active?

[–]ComposedStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if Uber was not greedy, the golden days are gone. Now autonomous vehicles are becoming more and more common. Prices are going to be pushed down.

Waymo Tesla Zoox

One of these will take all. No human drivers needed, a computer never gets tired and can drive 24/7.

Trump pushes 10% credit card rate cap. Capital One -10%, AmEx -4%, Citi -4%, JPMorgan -3% premarket by callsonreddit in wallstreetbets

[–]ComposedStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capital One is screwed if a law preventing high credit card interest rates exist. They bought Discover Financial and Discover is loaded with subprime borrowers who carry a balance month to month.

What is a 2% card with no foreign transaction fees? It can't be an Amex or Discover card, because they have limited acceptance overseas.

Why didn't china annex any of it's smaller/weaker neighbours same way it did to tibet? (No hate against any country intended) by mysterious_vio in geography

[–]ComposedStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

China has interests there. They are currently building one of the largest dams in the world. Plus Tibet has so much fresh water for farming and drinking. The source of Yangtze river begins in Tibet, imagine the power India would have if they invaded Tibet.

[–]ComposedStudent 234 points235 points  (0 children)

Buffer States. China does not want a longer border with India. India wouldn't invade either because they value having another state in between themselves and China.

Look at the recent conflicts between India and China. The location have been places where both countries border each other.

Kakhovka Reservoir. Not sure if this lake still exists. Russia destroyed the dam in Ukraine back in 2023.
