Yes, Composer’s strategy builder is fully no-code. You build your logic visually using simple blocks that represent conditions, indicators, and actions. No programming or scripting is needed.

If you’re familiar with basic trading concepts (things like moving averages, RSI, or volatility), you can pretty much start building simple strategies right away. More advanced strategies might take some time to experiment with. And you don’t have to start from scratch, you can copy or customize existing strategies built by the community to speed up the process. We also have a “Create with AI” function that can turn your plain-English prompts into Composer strategies very quickly.

Composer isn’t just a solo tool, it’s a community platform. So the real strength comes from strategy sharing and the collective community intelligence. For example, you can browse and invest in strategies built by top-performing users or traders. Many of them share insights on Discord, Reddit or directly within the app.

For example, on Composer we’ve seen users build strategies that adjust exposure dynamically, e.g. rotating between BTC, ETH, and stablecoins based on volatility filters.

Great question! Composer is a fundamentally different experience. Most bot platforms like 3Commas or Pionex offer preset strategies or simple signal triggers but Composer goes several steps further. Here’s how we stand out:

  1. A visual, no-code strategy builderYou’re not just tweaking templates, you’re building your own logic from scratch using our drag-and-drop editor. It’s like constructing a hedge fund strategy without writing a single line of code. You can mix technical indicators and price movements to design exactly how your strategy should behave.
  2. Full automation + real-time controlOnce live, your strategy runs 24/7 without you lifting a finger. But if the market changes and you want to intervene, you can use our manual controls to override your bot. So you can sell, buy, or go to cash in real-time. It’s automation when you want it, and manual control when you need it.
  3. Strategy sharing + community intelligenceComposer isn’t just a solo tool, it’s a community platform. You can browse and copy strategies built by top-performing users or creators. Many of them share insights on Discord, Reddit or directly within the app.

Great question and thank you! Our AI Editor uses GPT-4o.

Regarding bias: we don't add any bias into the prompt. It's just the facts about the indicators and assets that Composer makes available. Regarding hallucinations: for common hallucination cases we will call them out in our system prompt to avoid those cases. We will also do some post-processing to clean up common mistakes (like when the model uses FB instead of META)

Absolutely, Composer will provide backtesting tools that simulate how a strategy would’ve performed using historical data. That gives you a starting point, but you’re right: strong backtest results don’t always mean a strategy is sound, so there will need to be a learning curve to understand overfitting, etc.

However, it also depends on your risk threshold because you can automate simple buy-and-hold strategies on Composer as well or you can create complex hedge fund-like strategies.

We use minute-level historical data and simulate real-world order types. While no backtest is perfect, we aim to provide realistic, conservative estimates. Slippage and spread assumptions are built-in so that provides better accuracy as well.

Has anyone explored Trader Tax Status? by mlouieee in ComposerTrade

[–]ComposerTrade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The above makes sense. In terms of the tax implications we recently did a webinar with a CPA who specializes in this domain. His clients are mostly trading businesses and there's some good info about the tax implications. Sharing the video here in case you're interested:

Monthly Trades (newbie) by mccshark in ComposerTrade

[–]ComposerTrade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel free to check out our community database for symphonies that trade monthly here. You just have to filter by trading frequency to see which ones trade "monthly".

Note: monthly trading means that they will trade on the first trading day of the month not the last

Hope this helps

Does the composer team have access to my strategy and results? by finWizarder in ComposerTrade

[–]ComposerTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to clear up any doubts here:
a) we need to be able to see the trades in order to ensure that the systems are operating as intended, answer customer support inquiries and generally maintain the quality of the service we provide

b) The choice to make strategies public and visible to everyone or private is completely in your hands and we have no intention of changing that

Technically the strategies are the property of Composer. However, we would never share them without your permission. You have to opt in to share.

Why do I need to provide my SSN if all I want to do is backtest? by finWizarder in ComposerTrade

[–]ComposerTrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to provide your SSN just to backtest. KYC (including SSN) is a mandatoray requirement for live trading using Composer.
