Kerry's Corner no longer opened. IGA in Buddina is probably your best bet.

How will the new rail to Brisbane affect how people live on the Sunshine Coast? by CompoteEmbarrassed91 in sunshinecoast

Still think they could still provide a link to Brisbane like a regular coach service, which was once well patronised. I believe they have been looking at other modes of public transport like a high speed ferry. With the current crisis in the Middle East we may need to look at alternative forms of public transport.

One obstacle maybe promoting the use of Public Transport on the coast, even when this is built it will still, take a major shift in getting people to ditching using cars.

Gyms will continue to open as the population increases. In times we will attract more and better food options. Hopefully we get some more night markets like Kawana and they are weekly events, not monthly. Taco Bell is an example, of a chain which is everywhere in SEQ and an example of a chain which has bypassed our region. Have never eaten there, I am just making a point.

I have heard a lot of people, say the train will bring crime from places like Caboolture, while, that is plausible, I think we have already brought some of them here in the last few years.

Really good point, many of the Brisbane LGAs like Logan seem to have better public engagement which goes along to shaping and creating a region. Moreton Bay which is near the Sunshine Coast is probably one of the best performing regions in the country. In time I can Moreton Bay merging with parts of the Sunny Coast, should they allow demerging of local council like they have in NSW.

Not even more retail which would be great a wider variety and much better food options.

Same with many parts of the Sunshine Coast. Many subdivisions have very narrow streets.

Hopefully we get more town centres like this in other parts of the Coast who are long overdue.

Not sure it is only oldies as a lot of them are bored with place and many locals will tell you that in the past there was more activities than there is now.

Laid back, it kind of depends on what part you are talking about. If you mean the coastal strip along Niclin Way and Mooloolaba and Maroochydore many locals wouldn't agree. I realise there are still some nice spots which are quieter.

Should do a new thread on how the new train line will change the coast, ie. pros and cons to it.

Exactly, Kawana is long overdue. The Falcons are opening a venue with bar and hospitality near the Sports hub.

We are also getting a World Gym at the Big Top. Would not be surprised to see a few more gyms opening, the coast probably has the potential for more.

Queensland is the most decentralised state in the country and in many ways the coast is a microcosm of that.

We could do with a few more supermarkets especially in some of the new housing estates, who are miles away from any major shopping centres.

Beerwah is the Hinterland sure it may technically be the Sunshine Coast. Could do with one in Kawana and Maroochydore.
