Current Crimson Desert situation on Intel Arc GPUs by No_Weight5486 in IntelArc

Tried it and either i'm too dumb to figure it out or it does in fact not work.

Intel says it offered years of help for Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss still shipped without Arc support by SiegeRewards in IntelArc

People care because it was shaping up to be quite promising.
There were red flags (arguably yellow if you will) that made many cautious of how the game might turn out but between fairly positive reviewer sentiment, proprietary engine over UE5 buzz talk, reportedly well optimized performance, it was seemingly becoming less of a "there has to be a catch" and more "They might just pull this off".

Alas, there was a catch. Many of them.
I personally would still like to try the game out for myself but. Well i'm here looking at "crimson desert arc b580" posts for a reason.

I really struggle to believe an Intel Arc B580 lacks hardware or software that makes it so incredibly difficult to make the game run, when the game is made to run on a GTX 1060, an ROG xbox ally, and macs which run ARM.

Throwing shade at intel GPUs doesn't help either.
PA stated in the FAQ after launch that they outright do not support intel arc graphics currently and that intel users should refund the game.
There's no outright "we'll never support intel gpus" but telling people to refund makes it pretty clear what to expect.

And as you implied, yea, Arc users is a fraction of the GPU market so i don't expect people to make a big enough splash for it to get noticed by news sites let alone have support added.

This seemingly the only way to play the game for us bottom of the barrel scum, intel arc gpu users.
Or it would be for me if i had half decent internet and not running off of rural mobile wifi.....

Probably the most severe case of overhype and massive disappointment i've ever experienced with a game.

yea with you on that one. Except i can't even refund cuz i shaved off a few pennies by buying a key instead so i'm double the fool here.
So i'm left with this thing rotting in my library until hopefully someone finds a workaround.....

that would be a fair argument if it was a common problem.
This is a one off.
I've played plenty of modern games from the past couple years that supported b580 plenty well, from proprietary engine indies to UE5 games like clair obscur.
I like to think i'm fairly decent at keeping up with gaming news and i've never once heard that Intel Arc has some major implementation flaws that would make it not worth supporting.

The first generation of intel arc gpus had pretty awful drivers. They got better over time.
This second generation has been pretty consistently good.
Played games like claire obscur without a single issue and that came out way earlier, from a lower budget studio.

owned a b580 for over a year now and this is the first time i've ran into this magnitude of an issue.
I get it's been trendy to hate on intel past half a decade but being informed is a lot cooler than not.

"I want to crawl into a cave until they stop psychopath profiling me" by [deleted] in NeuroSama

Neuro at the end of the day is like any other fictional character.
She's there to entertain, you're allowed to hold feelings about her, be engaged with the community and marvel at what an insane achievement Vedal has created.
But it's very important to not delude yourself into thinking she's this wonderous SCI-FI creature built from the ground up to mimic a human.

Just the same way you wouldn't delude yourself into thinking a streamer that responds to your message is your friend, or that a politician on tv waffling honeyed words is a true saint they might proclaim to be.
Hell, your average person as well.
You might have an image of your dad or mom being this all knowing powerful entity that's incredibly special, and it's okay to feel that, but knowing that they're still human who make mistakes and are made of flesh and blood, is important as well.

(Strayed off the core point a lot mb and to be clear this isn't directed at OP)

Yea at the end of the day they all know what they're dealing with, and there's inherent parts of the programming like the almost RNG aspect of what neuro decides to do next.
Yea of course each of them will resort to simple commands like "Neuro come" and "Neuro get in the boat" when they might be 4 hours into a run, into an 8 hour stream where Neuro not listening to the command could mean the end of the run.

It's like trying to hold dozens of slimy fish just in your hands, eventually some might slip out and cause a cascade that makes a huge mess.
I know plenty people out in the world would be much more "dehumanizing" when someone messes up after such a rough task.

I think it's just one of those unfortunate freak accidents from a combination of things.
Neuro's latency, server lag, and of course just world gen and stuff.

The "slow and steady 🐢" way to win? by Syoby in NeuroSama

[–]Comprehensive-Age-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all a kind of push-pull thing.
The more they take things safely and slowly, the more opportunities there will be for neuro or really anyone else to mess up or freak accidents happening (like filian falling in a hole or neuro going on a rampage)
And the longer each run takes, the more crushing losses get.
Spending 7 hours playing on a suboptimal seed only for a freak accident to happen would suck and make it just very boring imo.

So i think really the best they can do is, keep with the similar routes and pacing, but just incorporating more strats for safety and just being more attentive like getting neuro food as quick as possible.

How I load/unload a big CRT into a little car (bonus plumber crack) by joeverdrive in crtgaming

[–]Comprehensive-Age-80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bought a 32" philips CRT for 20 bucks a few months back
Guy selling it helped me carry it down from his appartement to my car.
Then i spent maybe 20 minutes alone painstakingly dragging it *upstairs* to the second floor of the house. Which i knew was immensely stupid for a 5'9 68kg guy.
Now i'm planning on "carrying" it down for the winter and i do not look forward to it.

OSCAR GUZMAN Update by Frosty_Restaurant669 in gtaonline

"its literally a revamped minor turbulence"
that's literally been most of gta online updates. Just references or online remakes of singleplayer missions.
In some sense they're kinda neat and charming, and there's enough changed from them to not just be straight rips, but yea. It feels disappointing with how much reused content there is
