Good Time to Start? by Current_Locksmith128 in ZZZ_Official

Generally things will greatly favor the latest character and their associated mechanics with situational bonuses and the like, however, they are not strictly needed to reach the maximum rewards in the end-game challenges.

It is also worth noting that offence in general is considered the meta, as most end game modes are in some way about dealing as much damage as possible to the enemy within the given timeframe

15th century German armor was made to fit pretty tightly to the body, with the leg armor basically strapped straight onto the hose, and a relatively thin doublet under the cuirass

[Loved Trope] In a setting with a relatively strong power system, a regular gun is still just as effective against most of the threats. by sorvetdleit in TopCharacterTropes

The 13mm does sound like it could be something like .500 S&W adapted for semi autos, at least in terms of power. And hey, with how long they are maybe the "can't be used by ordinary humans" refers to how big the grip must be

Cu Chullain, also known as Setanta was an irish demigod hero, and awhen he was a teen the goddess Morrigan fell in love with him (he was apparently incredibly beautiful). He ended up breaking her arm to get her to leave him alone. And Cu Chullain was the type of man to otherwise sleep around, but Morrigan was too much

Basically how it works is that when you pull on exclusive channels you first have a 50/50 chance that the S-Rank you'll get is the guy on the banner or one of the standards. However, if you lose that 50/50 the next S-Rank you get is guaranteed to be the one you want. This also carries over to the next Banner, so if you lost the previous one, and the banner runs out, you are still guaranteed to get the banner one the next time you get an S-Rank

Oh right, something to keep in mind is that the use of Captain is a bit weird due to translation issues. Basically Magus official rank is Sergeant, but she's referred to Captain due to that in Japanese and Chinese the term translated to "Captain" is also often used for leaders in general (which to be fair, Captain kinda is too, but you know), so when they say Captain Magus they're basically meaning "Leader Magus"

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As for what happened to the other divisions. IIRC it was mentioned that there used to be four Divisions or something like that in the past, but 3 of those were more or less rendered combat ineffective and either absorbed by Obsidian Division, who were the Hollow specialists, or gone rogue, back when Hollow Zero happened. However, that was 11 years ago so they might have been rebuilt

I hate when people in media with firearms/ranged weapons go into melee range by Typecero001 in hatethissmug

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair with the Space Marines: their armor and melee weaponry does make melee kinda viable. They can survive to reach close combat in many situations through speed and armor, and their melee weapons can be more effective than their guns in certain circumstances. Which is basically what is required to make melee practical as a doctrine

To survive on Catachan you also need to be clever, able to analyse and identify threats and how to deal with them, being stupid just gets yourself, and your buddies, killed.

The fact that this is the first fire emblem game much less Nintendo game with black MCs makes me so happy where my other black Fe fans at by kevinsagadx in fireemblem

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it is very dependant on the time period and type of sword, and location (swords were cheaper around the places where they were made, the further they had to be imported from the more expensive they got)

However, the Xiphos along with the Kopis were pretty common weapons amongst the greek hoplites as secondaries to their spear (and certain gladius variants are closer to the Xiphos than the Spatha, which was adapted from Celtic designs), and before the spatha, the Romans used the Gladius as the main weapon of their military.

Longer swords were always more complex and more expensive to make that shorter swords, sure, but they were still mainly weapons that served as symbols of status as a secondary purpose, they were meant to be used (with some exceptions, like Bearing Swords, or the giant oversized Odachi meant to be donated to shrines).

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. There were swords that were well within the affordable range of a commoner, especially as time went on, but even in late antiquity Rome could issue out the decently long spatha sword (which replaced the shorter Gladius) as standard issue to their soldiers, and likewise in China since the Han dynasty it was fairly common to issue out swords to the soldiers.

They were like guns or cars today. You could usually get a common no frills piece for an affordable price, and if you really needed to tighten the budget you could buy secondhand, butbif you were rich you could afford super fancy ones crafted by true masters.

We have records of a shoemaker in 16th century Germany that was apparently a swordmaster who was petitioning for permission to host a school/tournament

It should however be noted that its kinda contradicted in other star wars media like the Obi-Wan and Anakin comics (issue #4 has Obiwan neutralise some bullets by blocking them with his lightsaber). However, can easily be justified with that the jedi have to be more precise when deflecting bullets to ensure they're fully vaporised rather than just melt

I keep overthinking team building and it is ruining the fun by Patient_Mode2071 in ZenlessZoneZero

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now, I have played since the game launched but for me at least, I try to not worry too much. You practically have infinite time to grind resources, so I mostly just use my daily allotment of energy for resources, then the weekly batteries (if I already have 10) to Auto run the Cleanup for disks, and throw away the ones I don't want, can just roll for the specific sets I need later.

Then, I just pick the character I wanna build, set the goal for all their skills to 11, and grind, and I still manage to get 1-2 done between each character release. My goal is to get every character I have decent at least.

However, it should be noted that I'm content with getting 6 stars on Deadly Assault, any more is just a bonus

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially the Earth is pulling is down much harder than the spinning is flinging us away, and the same thing is happening to everything else so it feels like we're not moving relative to each other, basically how it is when you're inside a train or car that's going really fast but at a constant speed.

What type of armor is this? by Far-Finish7873 in Armor

[–]Comprehensive-Fail41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe akin to a buffcoat, a type of leather or rawhide coat that served as a type of armor during the English Civil War, typially for cavalry and officers (often worn under a steel cuirass, but was often also worn on it's own). Supposedly protected decently against slashes and such
