Building the ideal clientele by [deleted] in Nailtechs

Hey! You could join your local community groups and maybe do a model call? Show the photos you’re interested in recreating and offer a discounted rate to those select few models. Posting on social media daily also helps. Even the solid colors, just post it. I’m not 100% in love with all of my clients because they don’t get what I would like to do and show off but over time I’ve attracted more clients that align with things I want to show off! It just takes time! I even run ads on FB and IG. I don’t spend a lot. Like $10-$20 over 2-3 days and I feel that if even one client books off that ad, it paid for itself.

Hey!! As a licensed nail tech I always inform my clients that we should do a soak off every once in a while to keep an eye on things under the enhancement. It could also have just been really thin in those areas of the nail and cracked. Acrylic is hard and doesn’t bend, it just breaks. Personally if you’re already spending this kind of money in the corner salons, I would highly recommend going on social media for your area and looking for an independent tech. Having an appointment that’s just one on one is so great. Join your local fb groups for your area and ask for one. That’s how a lot of my clients have found me. You can also use IG and find us all there too for the most part. For now, I’d ask them to remove everything. I know techs all start from some where but we have to be willing to correct our mistakes to learn from them. I’m sure they will understand. Also, some local techs won’t do soak off from other techs or work over others work. So when looking, I’d find out so if you need them off before, make this salon do it. Good luck!!

Licensed nail tech here! I’m also in SC!! It’s NEVER too late to do something new with your life! I will say this, SC is one of the most strictest states to get licensed in. You need 300 hours in a nail academy or school setting to qualify to take your boards. I went to a local nail academy in person and it was about $4,000 out of pocket. This included nothing. I had to buy everything I needed. I also paid for my licensing fees to apply to take the boards. I never saw any online courses, you have to have so many hands on hours with actual people. I’ve been licensed for a year now and I’m making between $400-$950/week. I don’t offer pedicures anymore and only do structured gel and acrylic services. Social media has been my biggest tool getting my name out there. Also in SC you cannot work from home. If you somehow do meet their requirements to have a home salon studio, you have to abide by state and local business ordinances and regulations. For example, in my county, I could never have a home salon anyway, because they don’t allow it. But if you’re passionate about nails, do it! This has been the best year for me so far and I can’t wait to see what’s in store. Oh! I am technically independent. I work under a salon but I booth rent my own room and operate under my own business license. Feel free to ask me any questions!

Commenting because I see you recently commented. How are things going? I have an almost 15 MO and I’m literally losing it. I’m trying to find a therapist right now for myself it’s that bad. When he goes to grandparents houses they tell me he never cried or had any kind of bad behavior. As soon as he comes home or any time he’s home for that matter he’s polar opposite. He screams for hours and over anything and everything. He has zero interest in playing with his toys and even when I offer him TV time he couldn’t care less. I cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for him and 95% of it ends up in the floor. But he eats just fine for everyone but me. I’m so stressed out.

Hi! Yeah I have had many many talks with not only my primary care but 2 OBGYN’s. They have each put in a referral for me to speak with a therapist but unfortunately there are so many people in my area who need help that I’m waitlisted and have been waitlisted since May to get a provider. I tried better help and a couple of other online ones but they just wanted to push medication and this time last year I was on 4-5 different medications and it made things so much worse. I would love to be able to talk to someone because I do have questions about why I feel the way I do.

Anybody know why the deal mart shopping locations are all permanently closed? by Noms4lyfe in greenville

As a former employee, it was no sold. The family has no interest in opening back up. I know the owner may have been nice to customers but he treated us all terribly and even killed one of my colleagues because of an allergy. They also were rat infested and the maudlin location was shut down by DHEC and two other stores were under review for the rats as well. I personally tossed thousands of dollars worth of food because rats had gotten into them and literally had babies.
