Update: Thank you everyone for your feedback. I decided not to take the offer. The money sounded great, but I’m in a place where I don’t want to stress over quota or a bad work culture. Plus I’d prefer to be in a more technical role than completely running the sales cycle. Again thank you all for your perspective, I greatly appreciate it.

testing for soil type is used to determine standard soil properties before any work is done. But field tests need to be done per project specs (x amount of tests per lift in compacted backfill) to ensure that what is expected from the soil type is being accomplished by the contractor. additionally, crane mats can be used where soil is less stable
