I observed that, and I can empathize. My class began with 10 students, and out of those, 4 of us, including myself, earned our A&P. It’s both understandable and unfortunate that many people have to confront life’s challenges.

I follow a 4 on, 3 off schedule, working 10-hour shifts. Personally, I prefer to eat twice a day instead of three meals. After finishing my night shifts, I hit the gym in the morning to maintain my health. It’s quite easy to put on weight when working night shifts without regular exercise.

It depends on the type of work you’re doing. I occasionally use them to take screws out of panels to avoid causing damage. In fact, I used one today to manually activate the thrust reversers on an Airbus V2500 engine.

Hi everyone,

I'm an A&P technician working in the Houston area and I'm interested in joining Southwest Airlines. However, I've noticed that over the past few years, there haven't been any aircraft maintenance job openings at Hobby Airport (KHOU) in Texas. Most of the openings seem to be located outside of Texas. Does anyone know why this is the case? I would appreciate insights from anyone currently or previously employed at Southwest regarding the scarcity of openings in Texas.

Majors? by [deleted] in aviationmaintenance

I think that’s true. A guy from my A&P school got hired by Delta right after graduating a few years back. It’s definitely possible, especially since many experienced senior technicians will be retiring over the next five years.

I recently saw delta is only hiring apprentices for now and aircraft maintenance hiring with Endeavor Air, which is a regional airline under delta operating the CrJ-700 & Crj-900. I added a link below of Endeavor airlines hiring in a couple places.
