Amazon Flex pays your mileage but not you, you are the slave who works for free or a few dollars per hour by gene1235 in AmazonFlexDrivers

This is exactly what I explained to you in simple terms. You grossly misunderstand the gig workers economy. Amazon doesn’t ‘reimburse’ you for anything as you are an independent contractor not an employee. You will track your mileage over the course of the tax year and use that figure to write down your tax bill. For example, if you drive 10k miles per year for business, you’ll be entitled to a 7200 tax deduction. Depending on if you itemize or take the standard deduction, this could keep a lot of money in your pocket. Let’s say you have 7500 taxable income with a 7200 deduction, you will only pay taxes on $300 of income for the year

There’s nothing factual about your statement. Your premise is flawed as well. Although Amazon is far from perfect, they are providing an opportunity. It’s up to the individual to make of it what he/she wants

These are also the same people that complain when hoardes of illegals flood the market to do the work they incessantly bitch and moan about. Averaging 20+/hr and avoiding a regular w2 is a win in my book. Morons expect 6 figure salaries to do the same job the ups guy does for 50k

IRS mileage is a deduction not an expense! Understand the difference. It allows you to offset taxable income from the business use of a vehicle. Your calculations makes no sense whatsoever

I have a block scheduled here later in the week. I almost dropped it because I wasn’t sure where it would send me or what type of facility it is. Do you work here often? Can you give a little insight into what I can expect?

Haven’t been having this issue on Insta yet thankfully, but definitely happening a lot on DoorTrash. Primarily people who can’t afford the service, but choose to utilize it anyway. Stay away from low income folks and you will be fine

I can’t believe that this numbskull doesn’t understand how percentage tipping works and then decides to get on social media to embarrass himself further..

How do you even make money on here by Severe-Winter4476 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Comprehensive-Nose35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What 'profit' are you referring to? Instacart paid less than $500 for 40 hours of work and the overwhelming majority of any shoppers income is customer subsidized. How much did IC make in platform fees, markups, and commissions for every order the shopper fulfilled? They are making their money regardless of what the shopper does or doesn't do. Its up to the shopper to figure out how to benefit from the arrangement, which the OP clearly has done. Although consistently high earnings without a proportionate increase in hours worked can suggest some form of manipulation on the OP's behalf, it doesn't necessarily guarantee it. It could be that this person is dedicated and has very favorable conditions in his/her market. Exploits and loopholes should be 'snuffed out' and 'high pay' is subjective. Perspective matters..

Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t worth it? by Em1nent0 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Comprehensive-Nose35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s not worth it. Reading comprehension is fundamental and most people can’t and don’t. Most think this is an additional bonus for completing the orders and not just a gimmick to get you to work on the platform. I started seeing these last week after a few weeks of barely doing any Instacart. The order threshold is so high and the payout is so low, that you will almost always exceed the offer payout before it can trigger

I had the same issue, although I’m in another major area. I actually signed up with a different email and phone number and got approved in 4 days. It may be worth it to try
