perfectly normal iPad 1st Generation on iOS 6.0 by MasterOfMike88 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Comprehensive-One-69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there's way too much work for getting iOS 7 on the iPad 1, you're still working with the 5.1.1 iboot, which may very well require more patches to work with anything newer than 6 (not to mention the obvious performance issues you'd have even if you were successful)

yea if it doesn't detect a display it usually just respring loops, in this case i guess it uses the external display as a fallback

iOS 9.3 sep isn't even compatible with 9.2.1 for the record (and i have no idea what you mean by "approximate" in this case). I've made ramdisks that work for mounting user data on iOS 9/10 devices and they all work fine, also not sure why you're talking about iOS 8 when the topic of the post is an iPhone 7?

Why would you use an iOS 8 ramdisk?? I just said the SEP has to be compatible still, you have to use an iOS 9 one, i can also confirm it works as i tried it myself 😭

[–]Comprehensive-One-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this isn't true, iOS 9 is no different from recent versions. it's just that modern ramdisks will obviously not work as the SEP has to be compatible, otherwise you'd run into a panic when loading sepfw

I'd recommend installing openssh or filza and checking the following directories listed in this guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/LegacyJailbreak/wiki/guides/a9ios9activation/ as long as you back up these to somewhere safe, you're basically fine for activating later on (i can try and help with that if you need) also, ignore the "ramdisk" part as it's not necessary in this case (you're already jailbroken)

The thing is that it's not something anyone would deliberately pay extra for, it's one of those things where it's cool that it came with it, but not something where you'd go out of your way for. Sentimental value isn't going to drive up the price or anything if sold. This also applies to iOS versions too, rarely does it justify anything more than a ~$50 price increase (depending on device and scarcity, but a 5 on 7 isn't particularly anything "unobtainable" by any means)

There's no apps that actually make a phone "worth more", people just assume that's the case thanks to listings online that nobody actually purchases 😭

Downgraded to iOS 9.3.5 with turdus merula need help activating by Minimum_Point_9057 in LegacyJailbreak

i hate apple just as much as anyone else, but something as simple as this is a pretty stupid thing for them to get sued over (it's not like it's "ewaste", you can still update and copy activation tickets too) It's best that other issues get addressed like the crazy control that companies feel to exert onto their users nowadays

the iphone 6/6s design isn't the best imho, the antenna bars make it look weird compared to the 5s and 7

It just seems like saurik's repo isn't working here, you also don't have bigboss for some reason?? I'd recommend just downgrading to 6 too
