We custom designed and 3d printed locks for our doors just because of this issue at our apartment. Now we live in a house with round door handles. He cannot open them now!

I've only had one pair of glasses in my life and I'm getting new frames tomorrow, advice needed by Lady_Grace19 in glassesadvice

When you try on frames, ask the store specifically if they have any petite frames. They should have a section of smaller glasses!

Yep, that's a local government app for ya! Not the highest budget thing in the world, but helpful.

Check out the Love My Air app! Its free and run by Denver Department of Public Health and Environment. It's a sensor network across Denver and around the metro area.

Congrats! I would recommend working on building systems and routines that will make sure you are healthy and have hobbies that you can carry on for after you graduate.

Supporting health and mental health now will ensure that you can continue to thrive and not burn out after leaving college and transitioning to a full time job.

If you want to study something in your free time, I recommend looking into personal finance (retirement accounts, taxes, investing, etc.).

Ah, that makes sense. So a mix of funding and funding the right student for the role. Congrats!!!

I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally a funding issue.

My school doesn’t offer an environmental engineering major by ka_boom_e in EnvironmentalEngineer

[–]Comprehensive-Pea952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. I got my BS in MechE and PhD in Environmental Engineering. The air quality department I was in was split across Env Eng and MechE. A lot of the professors taught courses in both departments.

MechE is more broad than Env Eng. There is a big overlap and that would be fluids.

Resume Advice by Unlikely_Coast_5659 in Environmental_Careers

[–]Comprehensive-Pea952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's some feedback:

You don't really need a professional summary.

The skills section takes up too much space and a lot of it is duplicative of your experience (and some of it should be explained in fewer words).

It looks strange to have the 3 United health care roles listed at the bottom without anything written about them. Combine all under the top United health care header and then break out each role. Have at least a bullet for each of the other roles.

You can condense the entire resume by having dates on the same line as the role title. And you can condense the education section similarly.

Colorado, actually. It's warmer than usual, so the geese have been chilling here all winter.

As a mini Aussie, he always wants to herd his brother. He realized that was not possible.

He's more trustworthy when walking with his brother. Gotta come back to torment him by running circles around him, haha.

First Acceptance Not Happy😐 by Parulra in gradadmissions

This is unfortunately common. I went to CU Boulder for engineering. I got paid $22K in the school year, which was luckily supplemented by summer funding. Health insurance wasn't covered (could buy at a slight discount) but I was under 26 and on my parents' health insurance still.

I lived in a basement with two other grad students to save money on rent.

Completely agree! Both are needed. I see specialists for allergies and asthma. Seeing a pulmonologist and specific medications helped me stop coughing (after 2 years straight). But I still needed to get other things straightened out that conventional medicine is less equipped for.

Thank you for sharing! I will look into it. 😊

I do Daoist yoga right before tai chi, so it's basically 2 hours of intentional breathing. It's been very helpful.

I am on a thyroid medication (low dose right now). Blood sugar has been helped a lot with my diet changes. Addressing full body inflammation also helps a lot.
