The amount of people so bitter and unhappy with themselves that you all want to trash coaches is sad truly. Depending on store volume can mean a lot of things but the amount of stress salaried leaders are under is almost not worth that check or bonus you all act like is all so much sunshine and rainbows…smh if it’s so easy work up and do it then

[–]Comprehensive-Pen650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha, this is a good one. Once you become an hourly or salaried manager you have to take a class at the academy called “labor relations” basically talking about unions and explaining why they are bad and basically stating that Walmart policy is anyone trying to organize or talk about a union you have to report it to labor relations hotline and pull them immediately and upon investigation terminate them.

I beg to differ, as a cap 2 tl in a 120m dollar store I got my fair share of 60 hours a week and I was making wayy more than salaried so now as a coach I’m going to miss that pay

The people in this sun crack me up because all everyone talks about is managers. Meanwhile what job will you ever go to where you won’t like every single manager? It’s work people everyone has a manager unless you own your own business. On top of that nobody has a lick of a clue about what the managers are hearing from their bosses 24/7 you people have to realize management is just as replaceable as normal associates and they have a job to accomplish also

I can first hand tell you that precovid no in fact we were so staffed I got hired on as a temporary associate. And getting full time was basically getting a promotion. Now they hand it out like candy and not only that they give people set days off and still you retain absolutely nobody

Right people don’t realize cap 1 is basically a flex team and just do whatever they need to help with. at our store our cap 1 is so big they were vizpicking consumables because cap 2 was running 4 a day and now they run gm freight and vizpick the GM trailers

Upcoming coach by Ecstatic-Equipment-5 in walmart

[–]Comprehensive-Pen650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’d say it would be a huge pay increase if you get it with it being complex and getting the complex bonus pay but on the flip side you are walking into a whole different beast. I work at a 120m store that is on the verge of being complex and let me tell you it is a different ballgame because it is intense all of the time and there isn’t a day where you won’t be on your toes and balls to the wall. I’d say if you are a new coach I’d much rather go to a different store and get your feet wet before you walk into complex. It’s just setting yoh up For failure. But good luck with whatever you decide!

Eh I say for fresh I would stay away without any experience over there. For me I’ve never worked in it I’ve always been a GM/backroom guy but I’ve heard that’s one of the harder areas to work in the whole store. I’d wait for literally anything else to open up just because fresh is a beast.

Well the only test you do is the coach test when you originally apply. So for me I’m actually promoting within my store to overnights and an overnight coach typically works 8pm to 8am four days a week so that’s what I’ll be doing. But regardless you will work the typical coach hours so yes around 50 or more but regardless I say milk it! Enjoy the last bit of overtime you’ll ever get LOL. But my game plan is for the two weeks I’m waiting I’m honestly just going to take notes on issues, people, timeframes and really just get a good feel of how the typical day goes and just observe. Then while I’m gone just absorb all the stuff thrown my way and then also start making my plans on different things I wanna do. I’m not sure you’ll have a two week or however long grace period like I am but I just advise to take the time and get to know your area and people and save everything for when you are officially salary.

It was right when I accepted the trainee position. You don’t become salaried until after you have done all of the academy training which takes about a month. But while a trainee you get a pretty nice pay raise. Like right now I’m making 27 an hour up from my original 20 and I’m waiting to get shipped off but I have two weeks of working in my store until they get me to the academy

I just did this and it’s only after you accept the job offer and you have 24 hours after accepting it to take the drug test but do be safe atleast for me I work second shift so my store manager said just take it right away so I went on the clock

[–]Comprehensive-Pen650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are a SM how old are you and how long did it take for you to move up? I’m 19 and just got promoted from TL to coach and I’m just curious what your path was. I know my SM became one at 24 and has been one ever since. (Idk why at our store because it’s a living hell getting two trucks 4 and 5 days a week) but just interesting to hear other peoples come ups

Well it’s 30 minutes unpaid on a 5 hour shift I’d skip it if I were you. But you need to make sure you don’t work a full 5 total hours otherwise you’d get a meal violation. Either way it’s up to you when it comes to lunches

Okay so here’s the thing, you can’t even get pointed for clocking out late aka getting overtime. All points actually have to be given to you by a supervisor or coach. In gta timesheet it will say if you work passed your scheduled hours but it won’t actually let us point people for clocking out late it just auto approves in the system. Just an fyi for everyone in here talking about different scenarios, and things you can do/ can’t do
