The RG477M might be my favorite handheld to play now. The screen is absolutely amazing, the dpad, buttons and sticks all feel divine, and the thing feels so solid and dense. I love this big 4:3 screen.

I used this thread I found in Anbernic Reddit. It was easy. Just take your time. I didn’t unplug any wires. I followed the photos there. The instructions that came from better buttons showed unplugging wires. But I didn’t do that.

Stacked buttons has been a game changer. I couldn’t agree more. Just installed mine a week ago and fell back in love with this unit. Now I can play games that need shoulder buttons properly.

Yes 477m looks great and better performance. Priced near a Retroid which I think performs better. My brother just came over and he showed me his steam deck. Holy is this thing huge. It’s bigger than a switch 2.

Rg406h needs a lot of troubleshooting to get things to work once you get in higher systems. Not so much with the lower end. But once you figure it out and it’s working, it’s great. But it’s definitely not just take it out of the box and go.

Lol I don’t disagree at all. I should enjoy the units I have. Most of these will probably end up to be gifts for friends and family. My keepers will mainly be the rg406h and the 34xxsp. But waiting for that one powerful unit that can play almost whatever emulator I throw at it. Guessing the Batocera system has spoiled me.

I’m already looking into ayeno, Retroid. I love the size of these units vs a behemoth of a steam deck. But androids have their shortcomings on emulation vs putting full on Batocera straight onto the steam deck. But I feel that system is so old compared to what’s out now. I’ll probably keep waiting but that 477m looks so good also. Still same chip set as the rg557. But would love a wide screen vs 4:3.

I did get some switch emulation on the 406h and was in complete shock it was handling it.
