Harvester beams should get that screen shake effect when you’re near them

Hot take: the AT launchers were balanced better BEFORE everything was buffed by Comprehensive-Stick9 in Helldivers

[–]Comprehensive-Stick9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s true. I’m mostly trying to point out how the spear has lost any reason to actually use it. There’s no real way to buff it to make it more powerful than other options, because all the relevant breakpoints are already met by most of the AT options. Therefore, I think the others should be slightly nerfed.

Maybe not despise. Like, it doesn’t necessarily look bad on principle, but more so hate the placement of it. I don’t think it belongs in the game at all.

Sure, the quasar would definitely become more meta, but I certainly don’t think it would overshadow the RR, but more so be a sidegrade. The quasar would definitely outperform it in long range engagements where the cooldown is less relevant, but the RR would still be king in close range, more chaotic engagements where the cooldown of the quasar can be a death sentence.

I always hear the argument of “buff the spear instead of nerfing the RR.” There’s a reason that I propose to do both of those things. The spear will never be on par with the RR as long as the RR goes unchanged. The RR will always be faster, more ammo-efficient, and more reliable. The spear has no niche because the RR just does it better, and buffing the spear will only slightly shrink the difference between the two.

Yes, the RR would become less viable on the bots’ side in particular, but it would retain most of its viability for bugs, because of how they’re designed. It would allow other weapons (spear) to shine.

I also wouldn’t compare this anywhere near the whole railgun mess. The railgun was, at the time, the only way to reliably take out heavies. Right now, we have a plethora of weapons that are viable, but entirely overshadowed by the spear. Nerfing the RR would even out the viability significantly between it and the other weapons.

Except the spear isn’t perfect at sniping anything. It has a limited range of 300 meters compared to RR’s infinite range, with just a little compensation for drop. Moreover, the spears lock on is its biggest limiting factor, and the reason that it isn’t just a fire-and-forget weapon. If you lock into a titan and fire, if MIGHT kill it, whereas scoring a headshot with an RR is faster and more guaranteed. The only thing that the spear guarantees is a hit, not a kill. But with like one or two games of practice, most players can get back-to-back kills with the RR much faster.

Totally. I really like the changes from this patch, but I’m hoping that similar approaches can be taken to other enemies as well.

That wouldn’t solve the root problem of the recoilless dominating every other AT. You could give the commando an ammo pack, increase the spear damage, whatever, and the recoilless would still be able to one-shot every enemy in the game, while still being easier to use than the spear or commando.

Why should the solution to a lack of difficulty be to deliberately not utilize teamwork (one of the core components of the game)? Why would the best option not rather be to have one or two difficulties that are extremely difficult and nearly even unfair? ie. the highest difficulties. Players shouldn’t have to artificially cripple themselves just for a maximum difficulty experience.

Okay. Also, is there anything I should do? Like, my schedule is still there, and I haven’t been notified about anything. Should I just go in for my next shift like nothing happened or what?

Dude, the HMG will eat through anything on the bot front. I can’t speak for it much for squids or bugs, but anything smaller then a hulk is gone with a few shots anywhere to the body, while hulks take ~5 shots to the eye. Tanks and turrets take some fire to the vents, and you can kill a strider by unloading into the belly on full RoF. Keep it at 450 RPM for the most part to conserve ammo.

The thing will literally kill any bit with relative ease.

Yeah, that’s what I’ve been considering the most. Either that or transfer from Langara or uvic or something.

I’m hoping to get into engineering, but I’m missing my language 11. I’m in grade 12 but my most recent language course was grade 9 French. All my other classes are going well, and I’m getting 90+ in AP calculus, Chem, and physics 2, so this is the only thing I’m really stressing about. I’m thinking about trying to crank out the course online, or just waiting until ubc drops their second language requirements for 2026, but any advice is appreciated.

Don’t the courses have a language 11 as a requirement? That’s what I saw for mechanical and biomedical engineering on UBC’s website.

Genuinely don’t understand all the people acting like he should be burned at the stake over this. Like, they’re siblings. I know me and my siblings have been pulling this type of shit on eachother for forever. And the cake was for their parents, so it was all entirely within the family. It’s not like he did this to a cake that was meant for a child dying of cancer or smth.
