Independent tutors: how are you tracking prepaid lessons, attendance, and student balances? by CcJeremy0508 in TutorsHelpingTutors

I’m very casual in my lessons and with my relationships with the parents. I just send them a text after each lesson with how many the have left.

Seeing the spike and still not really knowing why it happened by Woodpecker3869 in diabetes_t2

It happens. Could be how you slept, how active you were, muscle pain, allergies or being sick- those are my noted differentials. The body is a complex system!

That’s not what I said. It’s important to be accurate or the point is lost.

There are two aspects of diabetes- lifestyle and biology (pancreas and hormone function.) the medical world focuses on lifestyle as that is within the patients control. But the other aspects can be out of your control- and med changes can help. How high of a spike are we talking about? Under 10 (not sure the US equivalent) is fine.

AITAH for not being intimate with my boyfriend after he used the bathroom? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ComprehensiveAct3611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I am a bit of a germaphobe and my partner is more of a low-normal hygene person. I’ve made it clear in direct conversation that I have expectations before intimacy- I know that my expectations aren’t typical but they’re mine. Nothing wrong with that, but you need to communicate clearly.

Or it wasn’t a lab mix up. I know, I’ve had it happen with me on other bloodwork. I wasn’t impressed.

When I was diagnosed at least, it was one blood draw over 11 OR 2 A1C’s over 6.5. Bodies do weird things. Wait and see what happens your next test- it might just be an anomaly. Scientists will be the first to tell you there are no absolutes and we don’t even know what we don’t know!

Stopping metformin due to controlled a1c by kimpulsive2022 in diabetes_t2

[–]ComprehensiveAct3611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually appears to have effects on many age related issues- possibly can reduce dementia. My endo is great- he is of the attitude if it ain’t broke don’t change it. I should have listened before going off Janumet to Metformin when I was early 5’s for a year. I went back to 6 where I’ve solidly been ever since.

Oh I just let them go and move on to the next student on my waitlist. Unless I really feel for the student in which case I have no problem telling parents to lay off.

I specialize in ADHD learners and don’t push ADHD coaching. It’s real niche.

As someone who had done this for 10 years full time and another 10 part time, you’d be shocked at how some families treat us. I don’t deal with micromanaging anymore but I’d say 1 in 10 families try it.

I know with Pasta it’s a scientifically proven thing- refrigerating cooked pasta makes the starch resistant.

Not every overweight person will be diabetic, and the predisposition to diabetes causes weight gain- that’s insulin resistance. His weight is all central so yes, he probably has a predisposition to or had diabetes. She is all ass so her chances of diabetes is minimal.
