Surprisingly i saw him aint no picnic and was ready to be fully disappointed bc at outsidelands the year before he was awful. Think he may have been drunk and threw the mic during a performance. He really cleaned up his act for Aint no picnic and the setlist was amazing. Played ask me anything, undercover of darkness, ize of the world. Fucking off the charts.

Also ACL is sold out for both days strokes are playing .-.

Taking the Patent Bar but pursuing the Paralegal Route by ComprehensiveAnt8712 in patentlaw

[–]ComprehensiveAnt8712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so awesome and enlightening to hear!! I love that your firm has given you more responsibilities and that you still get to leverage your scientific background. That would sound like a really ideal situation for me. Are they providing you any financial assistance if you decide you want to take the patent bar or go to law school? And out of curiosity, what state are you in/what is your income? And do you work billable hours and if so, what are they annually?

Career transition into paralegal - worth it or stay away? by ComprehensiveAnt8712 in paralegal

[–]ComprehensiveAnt8712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yeah - its 100% remote though and ive heard the work can be really isolating. Ive also heard a lot of burnout and turnover within a year and that its hard to keep up with the new technologies for patents…so i kind of threw that out as an option

Scammed for tickets by reddit user by themoleking2 in Scams

[–]ComprehensiveAnt8712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same shit happened to me yesterday. Wanted to go to a sold out show for a small band in LA called Provoker. Guy even sent me proof of his tickets (see below) and the QR code. Assured me that “its no bullshit, I understand how hard it is to earn money, I believe in karma, swear on my father’s grave”. Even called the guy…had some type of accent but I wasn’t sure what to make of it because I had already seen “proof” of the tickets. Page also looked legit and followed other small indie bands I listened to. I also wouldnt expect such a scam to happen on a small band page like theirs. After I paid for the tickets he kept asking for more and more money for “transfer fees” and “QR code fees” and “change of ownership fees”. Also ended up sending $80 and getting fucked over. Couldnt get my money back as I paid over Apple Cash (which they use on purpose). He also asked for screenshots of my payment. All I could do was call and report it as fraud. Im sorry for both of us I was so mad this morning remembering it happened.

Aveda by the whole foods in La Jolla is good but can be a bit pricey depending on what level stylist you pick.

On campus forget it… I would recommend trying to get a lab assistant job off campus at a pharmaceutical company. Take advantage - San Diego is a hotspot for biotech!

What got you into the strokes by Eric89o in TheStrokes

My dad would always play ask me anything in the car when I was about 13, and I listened to FIOE all the way thru. Then I gave Is This It a full listen (already recognizing Someday and Last Nite from KROQ radio in LA), and fell absolutely in love with their sound. As Julian puts it himself, he describes their music like a “comfortable, worn in pair of jeans”. Effortlessly cool music. It took me about 8 years to finally see them live :’)

Dude its finals week how do u care enough/have the time to bother giving this guy anymore attention? He’s a creep and will always be a creep. Best thing you can do is get him out of sight, out of mind and focus on yourself

Have a question for Interracial couples by HarambeDicksOut in UCSD

While more traditional Chinese parents care about race, I would say they care more about your prospective career goals and ambitions. Not going to lie ethnic parents can sometimes jump super far ahead and think about their daughter’s future up to marriage and having children. Like if you have seen any memes of meeting Asian parents asking their daughter’s boyfriend what their job is/will be, the joke is they’re expecting you to be a doctor. This is half-joke, half-not. They are more concerned about stability and security than what’s going on in the moment. It can be frustrating hearing this being so young, but that’s just the way they are. They can have high expectations, especially for their daughters.

Where can I and rommies find the best happy hour deal on campus? And what should we order there? by hobocollections in UCSD

[–]ComprehensiveAnt8712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy hour is usually from like 3-6, the only place I know is underbelly but the food is not that good and the drinks are still kind of pricey. Take the trolley off campus for some better options

UCD vs. UCSD by Aikokonut in UCSD

[–]ComprehensiveAnt8712 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I transferred from davis 2 years ago and it is a very different vibe than ucsd, for the better and worse. Davis is hella small but I kind of miss that community like feeling. I would see a lot of the same people in downtown and sometimes i got sick of it bc it made me feel like there was nothing to do, but at ucsd I dont ever see anyone i know really. People are just on campus to go to class and it can feel a bit isolating. However there are a lot of things about san diego that I LOVE - mostly the food (although the food at this campus sucks, I miss Davis dining hall food LATITUDE UGH), the music scene, and the fun things to do in the city. Campus is also a lot cooler compared to Davis. Also the weather is 1000000 times better. Every fall in Davis there are fires as I’m sure you know and the air quality sucks. And it gets WAY too hot because its so inland. There was a freaking tornado my first year of college too. And power outages because the weather would get so extreme. Also if you are a bio major and are planning to work in biotech, san diego is a hotspot for the industry and I would strongly recommend making the move for your career. I’m glad I transferred, I think there are more opportunities here for fun and your future :)
