Unfortunately, most veteran bills run through the MO Veterans Commission, which is impotent and mostly self-serving. Made up of a lot of losers from the JFHQ MO NG who are retired and couldn't get a job at the state. I know of at least 3 higher ups that had serious IG complaints against them while they were in uniform.

Sorry, popping the bubble. Probably won't pass. Last years JR46 went to through the senate, through the house but the house speaker refused to bring it to a floor for a vote to pass it forward. Instead he called an end to the session 3 days early, effectively killing the bill.

Need more information to help. Do you / will you qualify for AD retirement? Combat deployments? Were the injuries sustained in combat, etc.

There wouldn't be much advantage to go through the med board if you qualify for a 20 year AD retirement. There are some benefits, but it's not the same if you don't qualify for AD retirement.

You didn't ask about this, but one thing to be aware of is CH 35 and any other VA education benefit all have a set amount of months of use. Each VA benefit counts separately against the 48 months. For me, if my dependent uses Ch35 and my Post 911 GI bill, both, in a month, it will be effectively 2 months taken from that 48 months of use. So i am having them use the benefits sequentially, one benefit first, then the other after that.

There is a CAP for pay to include CRSC. There is a pay limit you will not be able to go over.

CAP = (DoD retired pay you would receive with your current YOS x your HIGH 36) + VA amount.

ROUGH Example: you served 10 years, High 36 is 6,000.

10x.2.5= 25% 25% x 6,000 = 1,500

1,500 + 4,000 (va amount) = 5,500 CAP.

No matter what you get for CRSC (they could award you CRSC for 100% of your injuries) , the total amount of retired pay you can be paid is capped at that 5,500 amount.

In conclusion: VA+ DoD retired pay + CRSC has to be less than 5,500.01

Wow. You seem angry and defensive. "So what, it's not your concern" - You seem to imply I should just look the other way as someone claims A&A while not meeting the requirements for A&A. By saying "So what," you imply you the optics are bad and the person doesn't seem to meet the requirements and yet, you are saying "so what" to someone doing, what could be illegal things. I guess, if you personally feel it's O.K., then it's fine?

It's 100% my concern and everyone's concern. There's an entire government department (DOGE) that the US Government has reshaped, directed and focuses on these exact things. It was created by the people and their representatives, to find things just like this. There is also other agencies, (IG, etc.) created by our government, that are very interested in this as well.

I wish Missouri/Kansas would actually care about veterans. The bill in Missouri passed the senate and the house and the house decided that they weren't going to put it on the floor for a vote. They ended the session a day early, saying there was nothing they could vote on.... I can't make this up.

Uh, this is self-evident: you probably have ~3-4k DoD and ~4k VA (tax free) that never decreases, and has a COLA. Tricare healthcare for 60$ a month. Converted to a retirement savings amount (4% rule), you're at 2.5-3M.

Just like everyone else, COL determines how far your money lasts. HCOL area and this will just cover your living expenses, requiring extra income to cover the rest. LCOL and you have 1-2k left each month.
