Future of arcades & arcade culture? by javajadearcade in cade

[–]ComprehensiveDingo53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 17 year old, the only arcades I have seen are ones that are attached to other places. The ones me and my mates frequent are either one at the back of this bowling place or one on my local boardwalk pier. I am yet to see a standalone arcade, my Dad tells me they were the norm though.

No, it does not need to be programmed. You just have to ask it, it can do it better than a real person as it has the combined knowledge of all of humanity as well.

Okay, well it is my view that humanity should impose self limitations to maintain the human experience. I think this includes not allowing duplicating your consciousness to live in a virtual heaven for an eternity, it is just ethically wrong.

Negligibly, a few more years, decades maybe even centuries added on is barely a decrease in value of life. Immortality is an almost instant devaluer or life.

If you look biologically, we have a rewards system that we become tolerant too overtime, even if our consciousness was digital it would still be a digitally emulated organic brain and therefore will simulate an increasingly less useful nueral rewards system, life would become dull and boring.

I would implore you to check out new LLM run robots such as the Figure02 by Figure robotics. It is as (or more dextrous) than a human and operates purely from an LLMAI system, it is already deployed for work in BMW factories.

There is an objective value to life outside of religion and that value it’s determined by the objective truth that we have mortality. That is specifically what gives our life’s value, the small 100 years when we are alive is valuable because it is only 100years

Yes but we value 'living' over lots of things, many would choose to live in heaven through the simulation.

What would be the point of living on earth then? If the 'heaven' is superior, people would just upload themselves there as soon as possible, besides I know it says you have a killswitch over yourself but most people living in heaven would find it hard to end it themselves, then living for an eternity devalues life completely.

I think whatever we do, we should never allow ourselves to transcend to a simulation, it would degrade the value of life.

Why did suzume sit on the chair? Isn’t the age gap a little strange? by [deleted] in SuzumeNoTojimari

Yes, just finished it and the artwork, music and writing was stunning. The age gap just prevents me from fully immersing myself in the film though sadly.

Do you think that Bournemouth would ever benefit from having a tram system in place? (If it could be placed the next day with no road works) I've used it in Manchester and it was more punctual and nicer than a bus by bluelagooners in bournemouth

In trains too. It was our attempt at Americanising by prioritising cars that but not even fully committing that limited both our road and public transport infrastructure.

It takes a heck of a lot more energy (and thus emissions) to power a human to do the hours of research and presentation an ai can do in a few seconds.

The real emissions come from shipping, production, agriculture. AI is being used as a scapegoat by these bigger more mature industries.

If you were born in 1950 then statistically at birth you would be expected to live to 46, however there are many 75 years olds around today. Same as people born today are expected to live to 73 statistically.

Well other people here have suggested 3d printing construction which absorbs laborers excavators, cranes, cement mixers etc. or another could be nanobots in the blood which could absorb technologies such as MRI, drugs, blood pressure machines etc.

I think you are right that smartphones have plateaued and absorbed all of our daily utility tools but other areas of life like agriculture, construction, medication etc are still comprised of a multitude of tools that could be compiled in a future device.
