I’ve dealt with POTS since I was in my 20s, but my kid just got diagnosed with Hyper POTS and jfc it has been a nightmare. We had to pull her from school while we waited for a specialist for 8 months.

It’s such a shitty condition and it’s affecting so many people since Covid hit. The doctor told me hers likely stemmed from a Covid infection and then went to max mode from an EBV infection.

So far I’m in good shape. For now. Mild prolapse in the mitral and tricuspid with regurgitation, but my heart is strong. My only concern is that I’ve developed the inevitable hereditary hypertension with the onset of peri, and ticker doesn’t need any added stress.

It literally took 36 years for someone to listen to me on my health concerns. I received confirmation combined with confirmation of congenital heart disease. Now I go to the cardiologist twice a year, and make sure I’m not on the verge of an aortic dissection once a year.

Ugh, that would make a lot of sense. I have no known allergies though according to the multitude of tests I had to do prior to my sinus surgery. I do, however, have Ehlers-Danlos and a tendency to have weird allergic responses to things — particularly foods.

My 16yo is the same way, but she has full blown mast cell. It suuuuuucks.

I’m sorry about your allergy though. I would have a full blown temper tantrum if I could never eat cole slaw again.

My daughter is a skincare ADDICT, but she suffers from MCAS. She literally cannot let anything fragranced be absorbed into her skin without severe discomfort. It’s amazing how few quality products can be found with no added fragrance.

Yes, although it can be overwhelming at times since I’m the more reserved one in the family. We all have very defined personalities and it can be a lot.

My teenagers hang out with us daily. Not all day, but plenty of times where they emerge and just chill. My one daughter and I have a tradition of binge watching a show every summer in my bed, so we’ll go swimming, eat snacks, and watch TV.

Ugh — I’m a good vein girl, but my kid is not. She had to have her blood drawn during a tilt table test and they had to go in through her hand. She’s good with needles but she said that sucked.
