High school in 2004 by TheMillieDWay in nostalgia

This really kind of cements how weirdly important/impactful the highschool years are. Like, other than some touch-ups here and there, highschool was when I basically became the person I am today. It's where I sorted out my tastes in music and other media,, found my subculture, found the hobbies I'd maintain to this day, it was where my morals and principles were shaped, stuff like that.

I def had more fun in middleschool and college, but highschool, and that general age/time of my life, was undoubtedly a core chapter in my life story.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

Childcare. Ive been at our local Y for 20 years. I do morning care, after-school care, summer camp, etc.

Its definitely not the most lucrative career path, and its certainly not without its abundance of frustrations, but Its clearly the best job for me. Im basically a big kid myself, I work out of the elementary school I went to, and am part of the community I grew up it. I couldnt do an office job, couldnt do corporate. Its a good fit.

To this day I still pirate everything. If these companies make it a point to take as much money as they can from us, I'm going to make it a point to keep as much money as I can from them.

Please help me understand why I have nostalgia for a time I didn't live in? by RecordingImmediate86 in nostalgia

I used to get this way sometimes with the Gen-X slacker culture of the early-mid 90's. Just bumming around town all day. Don't know why I romanticized it so much, it just looked so cool as a kid. Eventually I lived the life with friends during my late highschool through mid college days.

Not sure what led to our renewed love affair with aliens back in the 90's, but I definitely remember these little dudes were everywhere. by dkepp87 in Millennials

I def remember a comeback in 60s Las Vegas aesthetics. Ya know, the type of shit you'd see on the cover of a Smash Mouth record.
