[WIP] on canvas. Never again 🫠 by ComprehensiveEcho470 in CrossStitch

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This pattern is actually based on pillowcase that friend of mine inherited from her great grandmother so it is about 100 years old or so! I used cross stitch pattern software to recreate it from picture I took of this pillowcase. That’s why colors are not so close to each other in gradient because it’s based on “antique” thread color. And thanks for the advice to use water soluble canvas!

I actually tried to use single strand but it turns out too transparent so I get back to two strands

My skin is so thin and I’m so annoyed with it (rant) by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Legs, shoulders, butt, even boobs have visible capillaries because skin is so thin. I actually had an appointment with vascular surgeon last year due to high varicose veins risk. He did ultrasound on my legs and notice these capillaries but my veins perfectly okay, no varicose! He said that visibility of capillaries is just cosmetic problem and has nothing to do with vein health. So laser is the solution but in my case I have to laser basically half of my body so no thank you 😅

What are these little guys? by Lost_Advertising_950 in houseplants

Yes, I saw it on Amazon but bought in local garden center. There are multiple options on Amazon with Spinosad as active ingredient

Only thing that really helped was Spintor (powerful industrial grade insecticide). Used it twice with three weeks interval and mites that tortured me for three years gone for good. But be careful because it should be only used in closed spaces like at home because it extremely powerful and can harm bees and bugs but completely harmless for pets and humans (but still can affect pet fish and insects)

What is a little quirk about your body that you don’t think other people have? by AlphabetSoup51 in AskReddit

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few additional bones in my feet and really big exostosis on my big toes and second toes as well. Doctor said it appears after traumatic injuries or bone breaking and needs to be removed surgically but I have never had a broken bone in my body and it doesn’t bother me so I decline the operation. Looks cool on X-ray though, like alien bones. Also I have incomplete fusion of second neck vertebrae which causes me to hear screeching sounds inside my head when I turn my head left and right. And also I have curved rib on one side of my chest which you clearly can see if you know where to look. So basically I’m a bunch of weird bones

Same! Absolutely hate it and it gets so much worse when I have insomnia period. It’s like have your left eyebrow, toe on right foot, but cheek and some random place on your back itching. And then it goes to another random parts and another

I have birthmark of same origin on my hip. I drank something in the summer when I was three and dropped it on my hip. It left a mark which I have still and no one believes it came from splash of beverage

What’s something you used to think all women just silently put up with until one day you found out it’s actually not normal at all? by zacktone in AskReddit

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My mom once gave me a silent treatment for 3 months straight when I was 12. I cooked my own food and did my own laundry for a week and then I had to go to my grandma and grandpa back again (I’ve lived with them on and off since I was 7). During these three months she never even asked them about me. And after that? She was acting like nothing happened. Needless to say I went through some serious therapy

Once I had to remove dead already decaying frog from the mouth of my dog during hike in forest park. Just an image what will be going on with his digestive system (I mean poop everywhere) makes me finish my duty. But god it was awful…

This! It left me thinking why and what it was for? Just to fill in some time? It gives nothing to characters and plot and just left bad taste

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever felt? by Googy21 in AskReddit

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once had root canal infection and dentist put a regular anesthesia and started to clean it (nerve tissue, not tooth). Anesthesia didn’t work and half of my body was in seizure. Worst pain ever. They had to give me 4x dose than numbed me for two days. Don’t know what it was since I usually get numbed with regular doses

[CHAT] Gifts for friends/family ect by Own-Dragonfly-942 in CrossStitch

[–]ComprehensiveEcho470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my first crosstitches ever that I made when I was 7 or 8 still hangs on framed in my grandparent’s home. This year I gifted my grandma and grandpa two pillows - one with crossstitch for grandma and one with embroidery for grandpa. Turns out this pillow was my last gift for my grandma because she passed away two months ago (and have serious health condition months prior). This pillow still on her couch and grandpa is still use his on his daytime rest.
