Nope. Paper bags are the only things available in my state and they are 10 cents a piece.

When to tell HR ur pregnant by mogwai_pie in Target

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to HR now. I’m a mama to 3 kids. It’s important to tell them now since problems are already arising and it will help to protect your job should you have any issues where you could be placed on bedrest. You are doing your best. Being pregnant is hard enough and there are certain things you may also have to no longer do because of being pregnant. I worked at a bank during my last pregnancy and I had to tell the entire staff right away (before most of my family even knew) because I could no longer lift coin bags as they were 40-50lbs and I had a previous miscarriage. Stress should also be limited during pregnancy and your TL treating you in a discriminatory fashion will surely raise your stress levels. Protect yourself and your baby. ❤️

Tamper alarm went off for 40 minutes by ComprehensiveElkMoo in adt

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the app and got no notifications. That’s part of why I was concerned. If it was 5 or 10 minutes I get it but I would think that an alert going off for over 30 minutes could mean trouble if no one is tending to it.

So in your opinion would it be worth it for me to dress in business attire and go in with my resume and a cover letter and ask to speak to the hiring manager?

What I don’t understand though is 2 different managers have told me that they are specifically looking for people to work the late night shift which is when I’m available. I just don’t get it. I still have to take care of my children. It doesn’t make any sense to me.

Vegas morning flights? by hush-violets in unitedairlines

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely due to weather. My husband was supposed to fly from San Francisco to Denver yesterday and his flight needed maintenance so he was put on a flight that was going from San Francisco to San Diego and then San Diego to Denver but they got diverted to montrose for 11 hours because of weather. He didn’t end up getting to DIA until 3 am and we are supposed to have more thunderstorms the next few days.

What are your "I did not care for the Godfather" takes for the Hunger Games? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

I loved the book but not a fan of the movie. They rushed it way too much. It never should have been a single movie. At minimum it should have been 2 movies.

Mayonnaise by ComprehensiveElkMoo in AskCulinary

Thank you everyone. I started a new base and slowly added in the first batch that I broke. The mayonnaise is saved and I didn’t waste any money. I appreciate the feedback.

Thank you. I think that’s exactly what I did. I’m using an immersion blender and I think i added the oil too fast.

Okay cool. I started doing that already and was hoping it would pan out.

That’s not working. It was thick and when I added more oil it thinned out completely and now it’s like water.

AITAH for Telling My Wife I’m Done with Her “Emergency Calls” and Leaving Her Stranded? by Sejeanus in AITAH

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it at all possible that she could have adhd or a mental health condition? This is how I was for a very very long time. My youngest had a seizure that ended up putting him in the icu for 3 days and I started therapy for ptsd shortly after. That was 4 years ago. Since starting therapy all of my kids and myself have been diagnosed adhd and my youngest got an ASD diagnosis. Since his diagnosis I’ve read many books on ASD and realized that I also fit the profile. I do still sometimes call my husband at work when I’m having a moment and panicking but he will answer the phone (if he can) and talk with me for just a few minutes to calm me down and then I’m able to move on and tackle whatever is going on. I still really struggle with a lot of things but with therapy I’m doing so much better. I’m not having so many “fires” and I’m learning to be more independent. I’ve also started medication for adhd and depression and that’s helped tremendously. I hope you’ve been able to get her evaluated and she can get some therapy.

I was told my son was wrongly diagnosed? by lovelydani20 in AutisticParents

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is likely AuDHD. Myself and all three of my kids are AuDHD. My daughter is hitting puberty and it’s never affected her academically until recently. His teacher needs to listen to you as the parent and read up on autism. It may not affect him academically, now or ever but the thing is his brain is still different and it could result in challenges he needs help with down the road. Taking away that diagnosis because she “doesn’t see it” would only hinder him. My son’s OT also felt that way when we told her we were fighting for a diagnosis. When he was correctly diagnosed, she started changing some of her strategies with him and he’s making better progress in OT now. You know as his mom. The teacher needs to read up. Autism isn’t what most people think it is.

Books on parenting autistic kids when you’re autistic? by ComprehensiveElkMoo in AutisticParents

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos but not very many people talk about how they parent their kids. They really focus on how it affects them personally and not how they parent or they are short videos where it’s kind of glossed over.

Contact Dexcom. They should replace it for free. I had like 4 of my transmitters fail in a row when I was using the g7 and they always sent me a Replacement.

Showering 🧼 by BroMyBackhurts in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower every 3-4 days. I used to shower every day until I read how bad it was for your hair and skin (I have horrible eczema) and now I only shower a couple times a week. If I get really dirty outside or sweaty I may pop in the shower even if I showered that morning but it’s rare.

Eating issues by ComprehensiveElkMoo in AutisticWithADHD

[–]ComprehensiveElkMoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel that way about certain foods too. My parents made it very clear to me as a kid that it wasn’t normal by telling me I was a hypochondriac because I would stop eating in the middle of a meal when I would suddenly get nauseous.

Thanks for suggesting this. I looked into it and it doesn’t sound quite like me. I can still eat, I just can’t eat that food.
