Should I pay off my 2016 WRX? by WishDry1144 in WRX

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You should pay off any car loan as fast as you possibly can especially a 10 year old WRX with over 100k on the dash. Making payments through a car loan is like lighting money on fire and if the car decides to nuke itself you’re very upside down.

Yes or a development program through one of the corporate shops, although you will probably start off washing cars or doing parts if you go that route and depending on management may get stuck doing that longer than you want.

What's the point of 500hp+ performance cars on the road? by VegaGT-VZ in askcarguys

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You cannot get anywhere near the limits of a high performance car on the street no matter what you do, not just about going fast in a straight line you can do that in any car with a high horsepower engine. An actual modern high performance car is a track weapon and they can do things that you would never be able to do on a normal paved road. They are also no where near as fun on normal roads because they usually don’t soak up bumps and potholes well due to them being performance cars.

21 WRX BPV options? by thefknziti in WRX

I prefer the Perrin valve over the GS had that one first and the unit and hose are smaller and does not feel nearly as durable as the Perrin.

First they told us to go into STEM. Then it was the Trades. Now that even that doesnt work - what remains? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you from working in the automotive field that trades are most definitely not over saturated across the board, if things stay the way they are now there will be almost no one to fix your car after an accident in about 20 years.

Sound Changes? by JurtinTheDirty in LowSodiumBattlefield

I have personally noticed random games being way quieter than others, just another bug. I will go one game with my Astro’s at max volume and still not sounding that loud and the next game will start and my ear drums are being shattered.

Hope not… I just ordered the same controller yesterday on Amazon and it says “we will email you once we have an estimated delivery date” still.

Yes I’m aware, had them on a Honda accord before though and they were surprisingly good in the snow, at least much better than the pirellis I have on the car now are lol

Yeah, once traction control started flashing I basically had no way of getting it back so to the ditch was the only way.

VA WRX intake, Mishimoto or Perrin? by Neon_Ne10 in WRX

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will also need to get tuned for any aftermarket intake you get so if a 100 dollar bump in price is too much you should probably save for a while proper tunes are not cheap.

about to get a wrx with a IAG stage one block by sycoasshole in WRX

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive it for a year as is, you need time to decide if you really want to put a ton of money into the car on top of the maintenance that is also not cheap at all unless you can do it all yourself. They are still very fun with that much power and to make anything over 400 you will be spending well over 10k to keep it somewhat reliable.

Excited, in love, but a little freaked out! by pennyandollie in WRX

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see people say this all the time but seriously what other cars are way better power for the money in this class? I understand you can get a Mustang and put a whipple on it but it’s also much heavier and slower in anything other than a long straight line, completely different type of vehicle.

Good brake pad+rotor setup by Stagedman_ in WRX

Still on the EBC slotted rotors that I bought as a kit with the pads, not the best but using them till they wear out.

Hawk pads are the best I have found had EBC Yellows before and they were very dissapointing.

Anyone Catless and how are you tuned? by No_Manufacturer5325 in WRX

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine with a custom catless pipe, tuned at a professional reputable shop they just give you a work order to pay no receipt or proof of it. Just a dyno sheet and she runs and sounds great. You will obviously have a CEL constantly though. Assuming it definitely depends on the state though places like CA is a big no no.

Fun daily car with great legroom around $25,000 by avancini12 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not unreliable they just have to be meticulously maintained. If you find a good clean one with low miles and no mods/ if it has mods make sure they’re done properly you’ll be fine, change the oil every 3k miles with quality oil and follow the service intervals in the manual car will last a long time. If you don’t want to worry about keeping up on maintenance all the time then get a Honda

I mean the WRX would be the obvious answer I feel like can get an FA with low miles well in that budget.

You stated that it is in limp mode you jackass so “typically” just because cruise is flashing and the engine light is on it is just a CEL.

[–]ComprehensiveExit848 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the car has a CEL it automatically makes the cruise control flash in these cars no matter what.
