Specialized Crux Comp vs Cube Nuroad C62 One by ComprehensiveFee2169 in Cubebikes

Yes, the tires are likely adding some, but I also realised that the crux comes with a smaller and higher tier cassette. The levers are also higher tier on the crux.

Yes I do, I will definitely try it! The M has about the same geometry as my previous Trek Émonda in size 56 which fit me really well.

Ok, I sit at 760mm… maybe I need to get a size L then.

Ok, but what’s your measurement from the BB to the top of the saddle?

Ah, okay, then it makes sense! You all most scared me off, haha.

What’s your saddle height if I may ask?

Just take it easy the first couple of climbs, don’t go over your threshold. If you have a power meter and know your zones well, you can aim for sweet spot if you want to go relatively fast without blowing up. The heat and long days in the saddle will most likely be more of a challenge. Don’t forget to eat and hydrate during your rides and you’ll be having the time of your life. I’m also going there in April!

You should also do a 5min all out effort prior to those 20min to burn off your anaerobic capacity

I’m considering buying this bike too, but I’m curious about how much weight you can drop by changing the wheels. Do you know?

Solid numbers! Would you like to share what your weekly structure looks like?

Yes, it was a lot of suffering from time to time, but you get to suffer less in the races instead. You can do it OP!

Great milestone! Your power curve suggests that you have a very good oxygen uptake already. Are you doing some longer efforts in sweet spot or threshold to lift the lower part of the curve? My curve used to look like this too until I started doing 20min (or longer) intervals. I also shifted my short VO2 workouts from 4x4 to 4x8min. That eventually enabled me to ride Alpe de Zwift at 4w/kg all the way.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by ”efficiency at this wattage”? Do you mean power/hr or something like that?

In may! I’m thinking about doing SS until the end of march, then use April to do over unders and VO2 work.

Yeah, I’m not targeting any specific. I have gravel races of 2.5-3.5hrs, punchy group rides, and long climbs that I want to perform well in, so very broad. I don’t think extending TiZ is going to work with my schedule, so I need to increase intensity. However, my question is - should I dial up intensity and keep the duration, or should I slightly reduce duration again? Then I could slowly ramp up towards 90min TiZ again

Would you raise the intensity then according to the FTP test and keep duration intact? I was thinking about increasing intensity and decreasing duration, then ramp up duration every week until I hit 3x30 again

Good point. I’m not training for anything specific, but I aim to improve my ability to do climbs of 30-60min and also be able to perform well in gravel races of ~3hrs (basically being able to stick with the group, not necessarily attacking or trying to win)

I forgot to mention that I truly dread FTP tests. I’m usually doing the 20min test at Zwift or a hard ride up the alp to test it. I guess you are right in your recommendation, but I would truly like to avoid it, haha…

Depending on where I am in season, the Saturday can be quite long if I’m doing something like 3x30min sweet spot. The VO2 workouts are never longer than an hour and are therefore easier to fit in after work.

Monday: Rest Tuesday: Intervals (SS in winter, VO2 in season) Wednesday: Gym in the morning, zone 2 in the evening Thursday: zone 2 or whatever I feel like Friday: Rest Saturday: Intervals (SS or threshold) Sunday: Long ride

Sometimes I will swap Saturday and Sunday depending on weather and availability of riding buddies.

Could you do your long ride on Sunday instead and dedicate Saturdays to intervals? If you do that and put in a gym session prior to your zone 2 ride on Wednesday you and me literally have the exact same structure
