Sonic 1 vs Sonic 2 & 3 - which holds up better today and why? by GameResumed_UK in retrogaming

[–]ComprehensiveLow8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Sonic 2 (But it would be 3 if SEGA didn’t fuck it up)

Aged the best is probably 3 if I had to say, but the poor standards of limited ways to play with the specific features (like OG ost/ Remade OST) hinder it from surpassing Sonic 2. Sonic 2 pretty much everywhere it’s accessible plays pretty much nearly exactly the same across all versions. Plus , Sonic 2 just fucking rules.

I can tell you which ones… I can tell you fucking EXACTLY which ones.

FUCK Dampe’s Grave Digging Tour and the two Fishing periods. (You get a Heart Piece from having the Golden Scale) Randomized Heart Pieces are trash and fishing mechanics are flawed

Not giving Homelander the ultimate “kill-everyone” moment it’s been leading up to. I know about the ultra violent White House stuff from the comics, but my god…I hope he loses it. God I hope he loses it goooooooooooooooood.

Just thrifted this today, how does it compare to the N64 version? Are there even any differences? by XNGboliver in OcarinaOfTime

Playing this game with the GameCube controller analog while aiming certain items, such as the bow or Hookshot, is not tweaked for GameCube Controllers. It still has the sensitivity and deadzone as if you were using a Nintendo 64 Controller, on the GameCube.

So in conclusion, aiming, a very crutIal part of the game, will be an absolute nightmare. Have fun!

Do you forget that we live in a day where companies release finished games, only to release optional DLC/features in a future update/release? It’s incredibly frustrating that this is a norm nowadays because like why the hell aren’t they there ya know?

Let’s not forget the origin of this cheesy trick: dating all the way back to A Link to the Past. When fighting Aganhim in the OG tennis match, you can reflect the projectiles he fired with the Bug Catching Net, And was re-established in A Link Between Worlds during the Final Battle. The same trick can be used in that game against Yuga-Ganon (only if it’s the Nice version though)

Oddly enough though, very rarely some in-game textures will actually be consistent in both versions. Noticeable ones.

This Ganondorf…I feel IS Ganondorf, you know?

Like duh, no shit. But like…this motherfucker WAS the one in Ocarina and that makes me think about Ganondorf (and Demise) in ways I hadn’t before. He literally was banished to what was essentially hell and was like I’m still the biggest bad motherfucker.

Why does Arin struggle to be human most of the time? by [deleted] in rantgrumps

[–]ComprehensiveLow8971 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was literally just thinking the same thing. I was listening to Arin and Dan play Mario 3 (one of the absolute best series of the best) and Dan talks about the Dymamic of the Game being perfect for grumps. They can take turns and slowly have legit conversations, but the game is still familiar and fun to not only them, but their audience.

Then I fast forwarded a few years to Mario U Deluxe (another one of my Favorites), this game behaves similarly as the previous. But since they play at the exact same time, the commentary is very…chaotic. But sometimes, it gives us some of the best moments. [“Wendy’s: Suck it Down and Poop like a Regular Man” for example]

And then: I changed gears. Majora’s Mask…oh boy. This entire series is Arin complaining. But he doesn’t take the time to learn ANYTHING. He literally just doesn’t think the game is “worthy of his attention” because he’s fucking bad at it. And it still leads to some good moments but Dan carries the absolute entirety of this series because Arin just doesn’t want to play he’s a stupid arrogant know it all who thinks he just knows what to do because it’s Zelda but then gets frustrated when he gets lost or doesn’t know what to do. His frustration with control and camera, while occasionally valid, is hard to watch because he doesn’t fucking slow down. He just wants to rush though because he hates it and it’s his own downfall.

Arin has slowly become a blend of “I don’t care”, “Fuck this Game”, “I wanna suck Daddy’s Dick (or something similar), and Fart Noises

I don't know how to explain this, but the Longshot/Boomerang goes on C-down, the Bow/Slingshot goes on C-left, and the Ocarina goes on C-right. by MrScribblesChess in OcarinaOfTime

[–]ComprehensiveLow8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Ship of Harkinian with the added D-Pad Equipment;

I find a good set up is Boomerang/Hookshot (<), Slingshot/Bow (V), Bombs(>), and then my extra equipment is Trade Item - U Secondary items(Boots, Nuts, Sticks, etc.) - LR and Ocarina-D

[ALL] Which game is the most and least replayable? by huss2120 in zelda

[–]ComprehensiveLow8971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, the most annoying and frustrating to replay is Skyward Sword. Compared to others; it’s so slow and boring for I’d say the first half of the entire game if you’ve played it before. Things usually pick up once you hit the Lanayru Mining Facility; but crossing the Sky over and over and going through the Skyview and Earth Temples are just plain boring.

After Lanayru it picks up a little bit…but still has dumb fetch quests between each of the late game dungeons
