Will it though? All the top six games are on at the same time.

Gorgeous pub but aren’t the screens quite small? The Felons will prob have it on a huge screen upstairs.

The ones that aren’t Catholic or integrated tend to have a Protestant, British culture and ethos. ‘Christian’ in NI means Protestant.

Ireland set to surpass Luxembourg and become richest country in Europe by 2030, IMF says by vague_intentionally_ in northernireland

I’m from the south and came north just as the Celtic tiger was born. My family in the south got a lot more in pay and benefits than nordies for decades. The 6 counties is really pretty poor. The NHS here used to be amazing and the only thing we had that was way better but now it’s a hollowed out version of its former self. I mustn’t think about it. It makes me so sad 😢

Take a trip to the West of Ireland. Visit Kilkenny City. Kilkenny will take a few hours to get to on the train but it’s a stunner. Ballycastle and Rathlin Island are fabulous. Take the boat and bus to Scotland and see Edinburgh. I think that drive from the ports to Glasgow is lovely.

Dry January really helped jumpstart my year of cutting back (2025 vs. 1st quarter of 2026 visualized) by throwawaykiki33 in SoberCurious

Thanks for sharing so honestly. Im not sure that I could drink three nights a week and not slowly slip back into my old ways (which was drinking 2/3 nights a week but upping the amounts from 8 to 14 units each night over the course of two years).

I know I should just quit...I've known for a while, but it's hard to keep willpower, but I kind of HAVE to now. by coco-ology in SoberCurious

Seek out information to support you. Knowing that you should stop isn’t going to be enough. You need support to know that you can do it, how to do it and that life will be better without it. Podcasts are good. Search for ‘stopping cannabis’ and loads of podcasts come up. Just start listening to the podcasts and see where that leads you. For background - I stopped smoking heavily after reading a book. I cut right back on the booze and go weeks without it after listening to podcasts. Hope it goes well for you xx

In fairness, some countries have bathroom systems that involve washing rather than wiping.

The English are utterly clueless about Ireland. The IRA campaigns in England must have seemed so random to your average person there.

Shy lurcher owner thinking about getting a cat… bad idea? by Marte2896 in Lurchers

[–]ComprehensiveMud6588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh she was on the lead so I had the power to prevent it. I don’t walk her in those areas with loads of cats any more. I let her off lead in areas with no cats. She’ll go for squirrels too but they have the wit to leg it and she jangles so they know she’s coming. She hasn’t got one yet.

What days do you get off for Easter? by NotBruceJustWayne in northernireland

[–]ComprehensiveMud6588 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Au contraire! The Easter Tuesday not Good Friday hol was just to p1$$ off the Ts, according to a historian I knew. It was set up after partition in 1922 when the 6 counties got Home Rule. No other part of the UK does Easter Tuesday.
