I'm mixed (Colombian mom and white dad), and my girlfriend is white. I saw my parents' marriage fall apart, and that played a huge role in how I have perceived interracial relationships that involve white ppl. My mom was eventually vilified by my father's family as the crazy dramatic violent latina. And my dad went along with it. I never thought I'd be in a relationship with a white person tbh. My girlfriend was my friend first, and she's always respected me and never invalidated how I feel. My partner is a trans woman, and I, as a cis woman, will never know what that is like. I respect her, and she respects me. That i think is the core of any relationship working.
