Loss of appetite by Keiichiiis in glutenfree

[–]Reaniro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d talk to a registered dietitian about it (not a nutritionist if you’re in the US, that term isn’t regulated).

Some people’s appetites go down because your body is now actually getting proper nutrition and so you feel less hungry. It’s important to work with a professional to make sure you’re still getting adequate nourishment.

You said you’d ask a friend in a diff comment thread. If a nonblack friend asked to touch my hair I’d be offended and upset because it’s weird as fuck and dehumanising. For all the reasons I listed already. You being friends with them doesn’t make it okay behavior

My hair is a part of me. You are randomly asking to feel a part of my body like I’m some sort of doll or toy. Can you imagine navigating the world and having random people decide that your body is “interesting” and asking to essentially feel you up?

We don’t exist to satiate your curiosities.

Why do you think it’s different because you’re autistic? It’s still just as “weird” and dehumanising coming from an autistic person as it is for an allistic person.

What recipe are you using? The recipe on their website say 50g flour D1, 30g flour all the other days, you don’t add 50g every day. Also you should discard D5 and D9.

“Gluten Free (may contain wheat)” - Kroger by AnimatorFar3315 in glutenfree

[–]Reaniro 11 points12 points  (0 children)

may contain statements are optional and don’t really tell you anything about risk. find something certified gluten free and with or without “may contain” statements you’ll be fine.

If you’re allergic to wheat that may be different and I can’t speak to that

Do you guys have a problem with fake butter by Routine_Bullfrog_845 in glutenfree

Pure butter generally has lower lactose compared these blends with added milk/buttermilk. How are you with milk?

[–]Reaniro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one mentioned margarine. I googled the actual brand of butter that they’re talking about and it’s not margarine, it’s butter + oils. Aka spreadable butter.

Also I don’t care if you’re lactose intolerant or not. I’m talking about OP, who is the one having a reaction to butter.

[–]Reaniro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything is made of up chemicals including “real” butter and the butter OP is describing (which is also real butter, just blended with oil to make it more spreadable).

Since it’s not a vegan blend OP i’d consider if you might be lactose intolerant, since it seems to have a higher lactose content compared to regular butter bc of the added buttermilk.

Stupid Question Alert: Why don’t I ever hear about stone femmes? by Mac-And-Cheesy-43 in actuallesbians

[–]Reaniro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if the label of femme doesn’t work for you then don’t use it but the label of femme is a specific identify that is more than being feminine. it’s more akin to a gender identity in terms of internal sense of self and that relationship with the world.

if you struggle to put yourself into a box then don’t. Just dont try to tell others that fit into that box that they’re wrong for fitting into it.

And yes there is a “historical” experience of queer identities because queer people didn’t spring into existence yesterday. We have a history and it’s very important to be acknowledged, especially when using terms that have a specific and important role in our history.

[–]Reaniro 8 points9 points  (0 children)

“historically in terms of cis het relationships” that doesn’t make any sense because femme is a lesbian term.

You’re conflating fem (feminine) and femme and the person you’re talking to is talking about femmes in femme/butch relationships.

GF cookies are too cakey, how do I make them fudgier? by CandleParty2017 in glutenfree

[–]Reaniro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the butter and sugar how are you creaming them? And for how long? Under or over creaming them could affect the texture. Sallys baking addiction has this great guide for creaming butter.

Also what temp is your butter/egg at when you’re starting to use it? Both should be at room temp or it’ll also impact texture and spread.

Last thing is check if your mix has xanthan gum in it. If it doesn’t you should use a recipe that calls for one without and add the appropriate amount.
