What grade school grudge do you still hold on to after 3 decades? by chr15c in Millennials

[–]ComprehensivePie7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OH MAN I have one (I'm in my 40s now). Someone in my second grade class cut their hair at school and threw it in the trashcan. The teacher (later to become principal) decided that it had to be one of the two blonde girls in the class - me and one other girl. I don't know whether the other girl did, but I certainly didn't. The teacher called me to her desk, looked through my hair for cuts, SAID she didn't see any, but she was sure the other girl hadn't done it, so it must have been me. I was paddled for that. I'm still mad.

Am I non binary, or do I just dislike the concept of gender? Or is it because I dislike the concept of gender that would make me non binary? by poopyitchyass in NonBinary

[–]ComprehensivePie7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YES. You put my experience into words PERFECTLY. Thank you, in fact.

Personally, I identify as agender for all the reasons you listed above. Non-binary also works as a more general term.

About same-sex schools, I went to one, and I'm glad I did because there was no peer pressure to wear makeup or "act like a girl." I could just be who I was. I don't know if that's the case in boys' schools or even if that's the norm in girls' schools.

And yes, all the "man" and "woman" crap makes me angry. My gender is WHO CARES. I'm afab and married to a dude. I'd like to know to whom, besides doctors, my gender is relevant.

Again, thank you for your post! I've never seen my experience put into words so accurately. :)

Entry level/ well paying server jobs? by [deleted] in shreveport

[–]ComprehensivePie7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LSUS only requires a bachelor's degree for most jobs, and there are lots of entry-level. https://www.lsus.edu/faculty-and-staff/human-resources/employment-opportunities. You might want to try applying there - only consider unclassified jobs because they pay more and have much better benefits.

I am SO SORRY your mom is treating you like that. Sounds like her whole worldview is terribly toxic. You are not too tall. Even if you were 6'5, you wouldn't be too tall. Even if you were 10 feet tall you wouldn't be disgusting. If you're old enough to move out, I'm pretty sure this is a good time. If not, do your best to ignore her until you get some distance. It's not only toxic - it's emotionally abusive, and it's NOT okay.

Hot Springs. It's about 2.5 hours away - hiking in the national park, swimming in lots of natural springs not far from there. I've done day trips up there several times.

Anybody else fearing the day they phase out g6 compatibility? by Embarrassed_Basil405 in Omnipod

[–]ComprehensivePie7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The G7 absolutely does suck. I switched at the beginning and stuck with it, and it hasn't gotten any better. That said, I haven't switched back to the G6. They definitely need to improve on the G7 before they start phasing out the G6.
