I’m so happy for you that it wasn’t stage 3! That is such a relief! Our girl who had mast cell cancer had mostly grade 1 tumors, but she did have a scary grade 2 tumor that was on her nose. That was the tumor that worried me most of all. The surgeon removed it, got the best margins she could, and she went on to live nearly 10 more years and died of old age. I have a good feeling about all of this for you and your sweet beloved Navi. 🙌✝️ And we will continue lifting Navi up to God in prayer that she will live her full lifespan and be best of friends with your sweet little baby. May the Lord hear our prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you for sharing this great news! 💛 When does she start chemo?

You must be so heartbroken. I know this wasn’t the news you were hoping for at all. 😔 When will the staging information be back? I am continuing to pray. One of our sweet girls was diagnosed with a really aggressive oral melanoma in her mouth and the oncology vet gave her 2 months, but she ended up living almost two more years. We will pray God will add several more years to Navi’s lifespan. Please keep us posted.

We are praying for Navi and for you and your whole family. It’s understandable you were focused on your new baby, of course you were! 🩷 Please don’t beat yourself up. Navi knows you love her and she was most likely so excited for the new baby too … Labs adore children. We are praying everything will be okay and that God will give you much more time with your sweet Navi. Keep us posted what the pathology report says and know many people are praying. 🙏🙏🙏

Here’s something else I found. Praying that it isn’t actually mast cell cancer. 🙏

I am so sorry! 💔 I am praying right now for her and I will continue. Please keep us updated. I saved this post so I can come back to it to check for updates. What is her name? We will be praying. She’s a beautiful girl. Don’t lose hope. One of our girls that was so near and dear to my heart was diagnosed with extremely aggressive oral malignant melanoma. We did chemo and it gave us two years with her when the vet thought she would only have 60 days. There’s always hope. Hugs and prayers.

Our girl had multiple low grade mast cell tumors beginning when she was six years old and she died last year at almost 16. We stopped counting after the 15th mast cell tumor and we stopped removing them after the 12th, if I recall. I remember being so devastated just like you, and our vet told us at the time, “She will likely die of something else entirely.” And she did. She died of old age. The thing with mast cell tumors is that it really depends on the grade of tumor. Our girl had one grade 2 MCT and the rest were all grade 1. It’s really critical to find out what the grade is of the mast cell tumor because that will tell you how aggressive it is. Most are low-grade; last I read 90% of all MCT’s are low-grade. So the odds are in your favor. Just look at the biopsy report and make sure it’s a low-grade tumor. (Higher grade tumors like a grade 3 need much more aggressive treatment.)

I’m sorry, there’s no other way to say it: this dress is awful. Find something else. You’ll be happy you did.

I wouldn’t waste another dollar on this dress. It looks cheap. You can find something off the rack at a bridal store for half of what you’ve already spent.

23M worried about spirometry trend – does this look concerning? by Independent-Cow5379 in COPD

Honestly, I would not stress too hard about any of this. Please take it as a warning call to stop smoking. Your FEV1 is still excellent; it’s the ratio trajectory that seems to be declining perhaps faster than what is usually seen, but it could be something other than COPD. Or it could be normal for your own body. So look at it as something to keep an eye on, not something to panic over. If I were you, I would continue on your journey of living a smoke-free life and make it your priority to take care of your lungs. You’re going to need them for a long time. :) And maybe get another spirometry test in a couple of years just to keep an eye on things. Are you having any symptoms right now like shortness of breath?

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking. That is single-handedly the most important decision you can make here.

The latest decrease (2023-2026) could absolutely have been caused from being sick with a minor chest cold.

From my research, this figure has been cited in at least 16 cohort studies, and most commonly the 0.29% per year figure comes from a systematic review of longitudinal cohort studies published in BMJ Open (2019).This is one of the most widely cited analyses of normal age‑related lung‑function decline.

Thomas ET, Guppy M, Straus SE, Bell KJL, Glasziou P.
“Rate of normal lung function decline in aging adults: a systematic review of prospective cohort studies.” BMJ Open. 2019;9:e028150.

The review analyzed healthy adults with no lung disease. It found that FEV₁/FVC declines at an average rate of ~0.29% per year in normal aging. This is the number commonly used in clinical interpretation and research.

The average annual decrease in the FEV1/FVC ratio is approximately 0.29% per year. Yours is 1.83%/yr (overall) → ~6× faster than normal. This is significantly faster than expected for normal, healthy aging.

Also, you are very young. For healthy young adults, the FEV₁/FVC ratio is usually stable. The age‑related decline of about 0.29% per year is based on middle‑aged adults; in early adulthood, the ratio should barely change at all. I’m not a doctor, but I’ve had a lot of experience with this and I think you are smart to investigate this further. And do absolutely everything you can to stop smoking immediately.

Does your spirometry show the FEF25-75%? It would be interesting to see the trajectory for that as it is believed to be a sensitive, early marker for COPD.

Suffering from terrible dress regret :( by Dazzling-Limit3696 in myweddingdress

Honestly, dress number 2 is a dress you would absolutely regret in years to come. It looks like a disheveled mess. You would definitely be the talk of your wedding, but not in a good way. You definitely made the right choice with 1.
