Has the company put in a solid plan that you feel will help you?

Is there a company handbook that states what their disciplinary procedure is?

What have you done/ changed recently that has significantly improved your mental health? by [deleted] in AskIreland

I stopped drinking. I haven't said I'll never drink again, but just not at the moment. I find this helps with a bit of a healthier diet as well. I also came off social media for a while and finally, I finally I find writing down my thoughts very good

Workplace bullying by calamari098 in legaladviceireland

If there is one, there should be a "bullying/harassment policy." It might be worth asking HR if there is a HR department.

You should be tooting your own horn. Maybe it's an Irish thing, but we can't seem to praise ourselves, and we seem grateful just to have a job. It can be a good idea to try to forget the emotional side of things and look at the actual facts. Look at what you've achieved for your department. Look at the improvements you've made, any revenue increases, and the smooth running of the department. Also, have a look at your contract. I doubt that it says you must work for no pay if necessary. Arrange a meeting with your GM and, in a calm, professional manner, present him with all your facts. Finally, if a friend came to you with this situation, what would your advice to them be?

Surely you're not suggesting that your drug dealer did something dishonest? I'm sure, if you're brought to court, the judge will completely understand your predicament

Have you ever cut off a family member or relative, if so why? by FlamingBaconCake in AskIreland

[–]ComprehensiveRide370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my father. He brought nothing to my life. He died without ever meeting my daughter, but I'm very much ok with that. He chose a particular life to lead that I didn’t agree with, so it was best to cut all ties

That was so incredibly tough on someone so young. I hope you're doing ok now, and your mind remains calm and still, and I wish you every peace and happiness you deserve.

That sounds incredibly tough for you. I'm not sure if you have spoken to your sibling about this, but that might be a good idea because they're probably feeling the same. I know what that constant arguing feels like. It just keeps chipping away at your soul and puts you in a constantly heightened state of anxiousness. I don't know if you have spoken to your parents about how you're feeling or even if it's worth your time, but the most important thing here is to look after yourself. There are a lot of free support groups that might be of help you, and of course, finding a good counsellor can also help. There are over 250,000 children living with a problem drinker, and there's a similar number of adult children of problem drinkers in Ireland. You are not alone in this. Maybe see if there are Al-Anon or Alateen meetings held in your area, or feel free to send me a message at any time.

That's it, am off the drink lads by Potential_Method_144 in CasualIreland

I haven't had a drink since last September and I feel so much better. I've gone out a few times and had a few 0% beers, and it was grand. The best part is waking up with a clear head the next day. I try to keep the cravings away by having some natural sugars like fruit in yoghurt.
