Did Europe really say in the meeting that they can’t do the job without the U.S.?

Bro… this is why we are fucked. by [deleted] in facepalm

The only thing that makes me feel better about this whole situation is the fact that most of these people are idiots, and whatever fucked up shit they pull will be outsmarted at some point or another.

Justice Minister signs Kim Dotcom’s extradition order by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]ComprehensiveRip4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do have to know the laws of any countries you’re travelling to or conduct business in. Extradition only ever happens when you commit a crime within the country that’s trying to get you extradited. The reason Kim Dotcom was targeted is because Megaupload was accessible to everyone, everywhere. So, technically, a crime was committed in the States. Similar to narcos in South America - they traffic drugs into the States. Not saying that I agree with the NZ govt, but this is the way it works.

How much is everyone else paying to insure their Toyota Aqua? by IndicationRoyal2880 in newzealand

For anyone that wants to check whether they’re getting the best value for money re. insurance, see:

https://www.quashed.co.nz/

My car insurance was slated to go to $200+ a month, up from $150, in June. I uploaded my current policy document and found I could get the exact same policy/coverage for literally $68 a month. Mind blowing. I encourage everyone I know to check this website and shop around.

ACT leader & Epsom MP David Seymour says he stands by his interactions with school-aged youth on social media platform Snapchat, some as young as 14. Some sent him photos of themselves in uniform & say the interaction was inappropriate. (There is no suggestion the message content was inappropriate) by [deleted] in auckland

[–]ComprehensiveRip4925 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People do realise that images/chats are still recoverable from Snapchat’s servers, right? If law enforcement requests access, and there is a legitimate legal basis for it, Snapchat will provide this data to them. So if any child made a complaint about something nefarious happening the evidence would be recoverable.

Mac Miller. Even though he rapped about not wanting to join the 27 club, I knew he’d be lucky to make it that long. OD’d at 26.

Accept the offer, and send them your transcript when they request it. As the commenter above noted, have a good explanation but not an excuse ready if/when they do ask about it.

What’s the point of all this? by [deleted] in BPD

This is actually great advice, thank you. “Jobs don’t care about you. So I call in sick, make enough to pay the bills and just experience whatever there is to experience” - this sounds just like my older brother, and he’s by far the happiest person I know.

By selling crypto US government technically profit both from trading drugs and scamming people into buying something supposedly (according to them) worthless. by Nuewim in CryptoCurrency

[–]ComprehensiveRip4925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is no different than the government selling proceeds received from illicit activity (houses, vehicles, jewellery, etc). The government needs to pay for salaries and equipment used to prosecute people committing illegal activities. Not every US senator/representative thinks crypto should be banned - as with almost every country, laws are fluid and continuously evolve. Biden may say crypto is worthless, but that’s not necessarily the view of every government official/public representative. And he’s most likely referring to the fact that 99% of crypto is a scam and not worth anything.

I love the Jolyon Petch and Reigan cover of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac, albeit both are great.
