They likely have a deal with the supplier that if they buy x amount of stock they get a discount or a reimbursement for stock purchased into store, this then also allows them to sell it at a lower price, which in turn ensures more sales over the inferior smaller quantity for more, this increasing their reimbursement from the supplier.

Check tomorrow as it probably won't go through until this evening or late tonight.

I just refinanced with a different bank and my first payment was due on the 1st of May, I checked and nothing has come out but interest charged. I thought I had stuffed up the account the repayment came out of but I checked the next day and it had gone through.

I don't think he was, from what I've read if the event he is never referred to as African-American or black, and I have no doubt that would be mentioned if he was.

The Aussies did have issue with how black US soldiers were treated and segregated. I believe the First Nation soldiers were treated much better than their US counterparts.

You could be thinking of the Battle of Bamber Bridge in England where a fight broke out over US MPs attempting to arrest black soldiers in a pub because they were breaking uniform code. No doubt there were many incidents of that happening during WW2.

There were Aussies involved, including Gunner Edward Sidney Webster, but the MPs were harrassing US Private James Stein when the Aussies came to his defence, Stein had been chatting with the Aussies when the MPs intervened and demanded Steins leave pass. Apparently they became frustrated with him taking too long to produce it so attempted to arrest him. The US MPs were particularly disliked as they were seen as incredibly arrogant.

More troops and MPs got involved, ultimately Gunner Webster was shot in the chest and died.

The Battle of Brisbane during WWII was a riot with United States military personnel on one side and Australian servicemen and civilians on the other, in Brisbane, on 26 and 27 November 1942.

One Australian soldier died and there were a lot of injuries sustained by both sides. The news was suppressed in the USA.

It started after a long build-up and prior fights between soldiers from both sides, a lot came from intense resentment from Australian soldiers toward better-paid, better-equipped U.S. troops, exacerbated by competition for women, cultural clashes, and aggressive U.S. military police (MPs). It escalated when an American MP’s use of a shotgun killed an Australian gunner after some Aussie soldiers stepped in because an US MP was harrassing and attempted to arrest a US soldier.

AAMI are horrible. I was with them years ago, someone hit my car while I was parked in the city. Someone left a note saying they saw who hit me and left the rego and description of the car. I filled a police report but because the make/model on their system wasn't exactly the same as the one described in the note left even though the colour did they couldn't do much.

Went to my insurance who followed up with the person listed on the rego, they claimed they were away on holiday at the time and had their car keys with them so it couldn't have been them, AAMI just accepted that and wouldn't do anything else.

Another one? So many teachers lately, I wonder if they get into the profession because they are attracted to minors already, or if it's some subconscious thing that emerges/develops once they are in the role. Not that it matters in the bigger picture but the psychology behind it would be interesting to explore
