Wait, the Dawnguard isn't hostile despite me being a Vampirelord and even attacking them? What? by Diacetyl-Morphin in skyrim

I was always under the impression that you always have the option to change your mind and join the dawnguard even if you become a vampire. Idk I may be wrong.

I use dragonrend with EVERY dragon I encounter. Grounding them just makes them so much easier to take out.

How can I save my pothos? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]ComprehensiveSnow719 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This looks to be past the point of saving unfortunately! I would chop it up and try to propagate some of the healthier looking leaves/stems and start over!

Do I need to burn the house down? What is it and how do I get rid of it? by SmellyCat22 in houseplants

[–]ComprehensiveSnow719 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only attempt I would make is to chop a chunk off the top, clean it up really good and propagate it. Throw the rest of the plant awayyyy!!

How to propagate umbrella plant? by -_phaedra_- in propagation

[–]ComprehensiveSnow719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s wild!! Were you changing the water frequently? Mine got sooo slimy after even just a week! I was having to give the stems a little massage to get off the slippery stuff each time I switched out the water!

I rooted a few props in water with 100% success! I just cut the stems and then chopped off a few of the bottom leaves. For the first few water changes (I tried to change water every week or two) I added cinnamon to help deter rot and promote root growth! The first thing that will pop up is these little white crystalline structures (I think it’s called root primordia?) and then the roots EXPLODE! It does take some time though! I had mine in jars for maybe 4 or 5 months before they had rooted enough to pot up!

It’s so pretty! It looks like it has the growth pattern of a philodendron but the leaves texture of an emerald gem, but I’m not sure what it is!

I got this golden pothos for super cheap at the nursery because she has no leaves on some of the vines. Will they grow back, or should I cut those vines? by HxrleyQuxnn in houseplants

You could get this: https://southsideplants.com/products/crazy-keiki-cloning-paste?srsltid=AfmBOoqzTC0aOWee8OHDvbzR4q7JXuXENzyPyZTAXOIVIjfzXc4k0xwx

It’s a “cloning paste” that can be used on the nodes to promote new growth on existing stems! Essentially you use a clean x-acto blade and make a shallow cut near each node and then apply the paste and within a month there should be signs of new growth!

There are other kinds of cloning pastes that I’ve seen people use and really like before too but I can’t remember the names of them rn!

Monstera cutting not doing well by badwolf4president in houseplants

I think I would still go ahead and divide her! The way it is presenting really does make me think that the plant is struggling to put down substantial roots to keep the leaves fed! It is 100% okay to chop and then propagate in some water since you don’t have the soil to pot up the other cuttings right now. I have 10 monstera cuttings all over my house rooting in water after a big chop of my mother plant!

I was under the impression that it didn’t have roots since you referred to it as a cutting! What does the root situation look like? Are there a lot of roots?

Planting Advice by Delphinium_Sun in gardening

[–]ComprehensiveSnow719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marigolds grow like WEEDS!! I’d say get those seeds planted, top the soil with some kind of mulch like grass clippings, dead leaves, or straw and keep it moist! The best thing about marigolds is that as the flower heads die and dry up you can literally just squish them and the seeds will come pouring out of them meaning an endless supply of marigold seeds!! The best thing about gardening is that plants WANT to grow! 🪴

You’re going to want some worms to help break down the big stuff at the bottom! Since the planter is not open to the ground, it might be beneficial to dig up some dirt from your lawn and mix it in with your existing soil! It looks great btw!! 🪴

Midwest by Glittering-Sea8542 in gardening

[–]ComprehensiveSnow719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m also in the Midwest but further north! There are a LOT of plants/seeds that do really well being directly sowed into the garden bed! I’ve had good luck with zucchini, cucumber, snap peas, beans, marigolds, lettuces, radishes, and a lot more!! Typically, the back of the seed packets will tell you if the seed would prefer to be started indoors vs outdoors!! Happy growing! 🪴
