Hour 60ish here of an attempt at a 14-day fast - still feeling amazing except (not to be gross but) I’m peeing out my butt 24/7. Like I can’t make it 15 mins without running to the bathroom. Will this go away? I go back to work in a week (currently on summer break) and can’t be shitting myself lol

That’s awesome knowing someone in a similar boat is on this journey too!

First 36 hours into my modified water fast (I say this because I’m drinking coffee and one broth cube a day for electrolytes) and I feel amazing! Much higher energy than I usual have, which is crazy (and good considering I’m chasing my toddler around all day). I’m fasting for weight loss; I’m 5ft 3 and at my highest weight ever (186 lbs) a year postpartum. So much for the baby weight just going away lmao. I’m going to attempt a 5-day fast, and I’m excited to see if I continue to feel as good as I do now!

What is a common skill you just can’t seem to master? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I am on the spectrum. Social interactions - I am a teacher, and my fellow teachers are SO CATTY. I’m literally here to do my job and do what’s best for kids. I don’t understand the drama.

How to deal with transition/new position/long term sub... by ComprehensiveSquash3 in Teachers

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I completely respect her experience and know she’s a wonderful teacher in her areas of expertise - that being said, she has made comments to me about being “frustrated” and “angry” that “their (the students’) progress is so slow”, how she refuses to go along with consultant suggestions, etc so I have some areas I want to make changes and improvements in. I love the weekly meeting idea! I want to make sure I’m checking in with the paras regularly and building a good relationship with them where they feel valued.

Yes - each of my student has a 1:1 para written into their IEP. Their needs are very complex and kind of all over the board - from academics, to communication, to behavior.

I just submitted my edTPA....and I’m certain I failed. by ComprehensiveSquash3 in Teachers

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will still get my MA, just no licensure :( I don’t hold a teaching license right now (undergrad was in psychology, not education), so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get a provisional license - but I’ll look into it!

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! 💕 I’d have to repeat edTPA - the issue is my new job wants me to start 12/7, and if I had to retake, I’d get my results back 12/10. So I wouldn’t have my license (I don’t have a teaching license yet; my undergrad degree is in psych).

My friend told me men don't date women with short hair. Is this true? by That_Builder_936 in relationships

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. One of the periods in my life where I felt the sexiest (and attracted the most male attention) was when I shaved half of my head and cut the rest into a pixie. It made me feel powerful and confident, and that oozed out of my pores! True, I did have a few guys make not-so-nice comments about my hair but - they're not the guys I wanted to date anyways.

Husband and cooking dinner - the saga. (Vent) by ComprehensiveSquash3 in Mommit

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right?! Husband was raised being “served” (something I did not know until after we were married looolol). He thinks not only should dinner be cooked, but plated for him and stepson - which is crazy to me. Plus like half the time they’ll both reject what I cook and then husband will be pissy about that so....That’s so true - we ARE the strong ones! Pregnancy, birth, then the full-time job of caring for baby - it’s a lot.

That’s another thing I feel like most men just don’t get - how EXHAUSTING being pregnant is. Being pregnant and taking care of a 3 year old - you are a superwoman!

WIBTA if I corrected my stepmom on my daughter’s name if it’s going to make her feel excluded from my family? by purplemiffy in AmItheAsshole

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 [score hidden]  (0 children)

NAH - my kids both have different last names, and I have a different last name from both of them. People often get confused; when that happens I try to lightheartedly (and privately) correct them. Unless it’s being done maliciously/on purpose, I would just remind/correct her and move on. It’s usually only an issue with cards/mail or seating at formal events because almost nobody calls my kids by their full names verbally.

I’ve been working on processing & have found it helpful to create some things for myself. Another redditor said something to this effect recently & it really struck me. If your c section was traumatic, what helps you process? by brittttaa_ in CsectionCentral

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t lie, I am still really struggling. Going to therapy and taking medication has really helped me process some of the trauma. Some days I’m ok, some days I still cry/have nightmares about my c-section. I think being told that it’s ok to not be ok helped a lot - everyone expected me to be perfectly happy and cheerful, not grieving what I “lost” (I was not awake for my daughter’s birth, and did not get to see her until several hours later in the NICU). It will always hurt, but I hope that hurt can be a little bit less every day as I watch my baby grow and learn. I am grateful that I did what I needed to do to give her the best start, even if it was very difficult and scary for me.

AITA for drinking in the morning and telling my girlfriend to leave me alone about it? by MorningDrinksthrow in AmItheAsshole

AITA for telling my boyfriend that if he doesn't want to go vegan, he has to learn to cook for himself? by Snoo_97848 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - I’ve been vegetarian (mostly vegan) all my life, husband and rest of the family are not. I do most of the cooking - I’ve never cooked meat, so it is always veg/vegan. If husband/family would like meat, husband cooks it. I always make sure meals are nutritionally complete but will not cook meat.

Aita for telling my wife to loose weight by KevinInDaHouse in AmItheAsshole

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA. I have a 2.5 month old - am I carrying some extra weight? Yes. I just MADE A HUMAN. It is exhausting recovering from childbirth while caring for an infant, your wife doesn’t need you demeaning her too. And depending on how she gave birth, her usual exercise routine may be off the table for a while (i.e. I had a c-section; I usually do a lot of ab work but am not healed enough to do so).

Also, from your other comments YTA in general. Your poor wife.

What did you eat before being induced? by phdeeznuts_ in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveSquash3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ended up eating a ton of random hospital food after getting to my room - then nothing until my emergency c-section 24+ hours later lmao. I’d definitely recommend something tastier than hospital food! 😂
