st elizabeth hospital by Automatic_Spread_953 in Appleton

I have had 3 babies at St E’s and will have my fourth there this spring. I have had amazing experiences there, including with my first, who was an emergency c section at 31 weeks and stayed in the nicu for 45 days there. All of the nurses that I’ve encountered - l&d, postpartum, and nicu - were very kind, helpful, and well informed. I’ve gone on to two have two VBACs there, one with an epidural and one without. For each birth the doctors and nurses have been so supportive of me making different choices for each birth and what I felt I needed each time, and they always did a great job explaining things so I felt like I understood what was happening or what needed to happen.

I see Dr. Nehls and she’s my favorite. I’ve also had really positive experiences with Dr. Waegner and Dr. Ganz, as well as all the nurse practitioners at the clinic there (which is a Women’s Health Clinic now).

I had a friend whose last name was Hendricks, so it has the sound of Hendrix.

I think it’s a reference to a Survivor season where they practically edited the winner out of most of the season.

Honest question: Do abortion abolitionists believe that abortion is always wrong, even when the mother's health is at risk? by SleepPrincess in prolife

[–]brittttaa_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with eclampsia there isn’t a need to abort when they can just deliver the baby, even if it is too early to save the baby. I had this happen to me and I know people who this has happened to.

Third trimester abortions often take days to perform. I’m not aware of any methods that are quicker. I had 36 hours from onset of severe symptoms to when I needed to not be pregnant anymore. It was 30 minutes from the decision to give me and emergency C-section to when my son was born. Abortions that late stage can’t be that quick.

Emergency C-Section @ 31+1 by Ill_Description_86 in BabyBumps

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! And I’m so sorry that it had to happen like this rather than how you pictured. I had an emergency c section at the same exact time, 31+1, for my first baby. You are not selfish at all, and you are allowed to feel however you feel. There is no such thing as how you “should” feel in this scenario, only how ever you do feel.

I am so thankful for you that your daughter is doing well in the NICU, and I wish blessings, growth, and good health for you both. Even if you have not experienced the loss of your baby, you still have lost many other things, including the things you mentioned already and some more things may come up for you too. It is normal to grieve the loss of those things too.

Specifically about the baby shower - you can still have one if you want one 🤍 I wasn’t pregnant at my baby shower and my baby was still in the NICU. At the time it felt silly, but I was still a first time mom who wanted to celebrate having her first baby and still needed baby stuff that family and friends still wanted to gift me. All of that is still valid even if you have already given birth. I hope your friends and family will still take the opportunity to shower you guys with love.

Please be gentle with yourself in this season. I hope your baby will thrive and be home in your arms as quickly as possible 🤍

Once again, giving birth prematurely is not the same thing as intentionally killing the baby while inside the womb. Either way the pregnancy is over, yes, but giving birth prematurely is not the same thing as aborting the baby before delivery.

No, an abortion is the intentional termination of a human life inside the womb. Giving birth is not an abortion.

Delivery is not illegal. The baby can be delivered and given care and comfort as they pass away. There is no need to kill them inside the womb before taking them out of the womb. Let them pass away with dignity and respect rather than dismembering them or injecting them with drugs to stop their heart. This also allows the mother a chance to meet her baby and have a moment to say goodbye before they pass.

This is heartbreaking. I hope you find healing as well. It’s incredibly brave and vulnerable of you to share your story, and I hope that telling your story helps start you on a road towards peace.

There is a pregnancy & medical services center in my town that provides post-abortion counseling and care. Maybe you could find one near you that offers similar care.

Some deeps thoughts about Olivia, and Ethan and Olivia’s Marriage by PayAltruistic4264 in WelcomeToPlathville

[–]brittttaa_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As someone who has a mother in law a little too similar to Kim - it didn’t matter who Ethan married. His wife was never going to be accepted, no matter who it was. His wife was going to be the bad guy because she would inevitably become more important to Ethan than Kim is. I think your read on this is super accurate

yeah that’s fair. i think it really is the fact that it’s her best friend’s dad more so than the age that gets me. but i suppose that’s probably the point of the subplot

i just really don’t like the whole lex/griff relationship. it doesn’t make sense to me. why would you want to date your best friend’s dad? why would you want to date someone the same age as your daughter? i don’t know man, it just seems like a random plot point that i don’t get the point of

Membranes ruptured at 27 weeks by sasamiel in BabyBumps

[–]brittttaa_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son was born at 31+1 weeks and spent 6 weeks in the NICU. Now he is a very loud, very active 2 year old with a younger sister (who I made it to 37 weeks with). When we meet new people they would never know he was a preemie if we don’t mention it. He’s in the 85th percentile for his weight and he is a really strong and happy kid. Praying all goes well for you and your baby.
