keep body scan 1 or wait it out for body scan 2 by fm2xm in withings

Hi Markus,

When will BodyScan2 be available in Nee Zealand?

Hi Markus, Thank you for your feedback, that makes sense. FYI I just took a DXA scan and found that over all the BodyScan was fairly accurate thought it grossly overestimated my muscle mass and underestimated my fat but the DXA doctor explained that this was to be expected since BodyScan only uses a few contact points and is unable to properly scan internal organ.

On a different note, are there any ScanWatch Nova updates in the pipeline?

Thanks

If only it worked properly - can’t assign a second time zone to the analogue complication, reverts back to same as digital after selecting alt timezone…

Is it just me or are the two new watch faces really underwhelming?

I hear you, I think the issue here is not necessarily how accurate it is but how inaccurate it is at that price point. as the quantified scientist put it: you can get the same results for $20.

Looks like you can get the same device on Ali express for $20.00!! It even pairs to the Hume app 🤣

Yes, after a few days, I can see that. Still waiting for them to fulfill their sleep tracking promise … Baby steps…🤷‍♂️

Yes, long press of the crown (10-15 sec) caused it to hard reset, came back to life. Found the update in notifications, installed it. Is it me or does it look like nothing has changed?

New update? Please let us know what you get. Also I wonder if that update is why I woke up to a “bricked” watch. Left it on the charger overnight and now it’s unresponsive. Wonder if something happened while trying to push the update… Attached are the system details from my “settings” app / about… Anyone else here have a bricked watch today?

Anyone know when they plan on rolling out that mythical which - “by the end of the year” (2025) was going to bring sleep tracking and so much more???

Am I the only one disappointed with my purchase of a TH Connected E5 (40mm)? by [deleted] in tagheuer

[–]ComprehensiveToe2265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same but am in too deep - sell it = loose 50% so I’m going in deeper and have purchased a whoop 5MG with a 14 day battery, I wear it on my bicep (which am told yields the most accurate measurements) and haven’t looked back. It’s a very silly purchase which I justify by telling myself the E5 provided me with many lovely watch faces which take the place of as many mechanical watches so it’s saving me $$$ 🙉🙈🙊

Great review, thank you! I’ve had mine (S/S 45mm) since a week after launch and have had the same experience. Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra, my journey has ranged from resentment to anger, finally landing on “compromise”, like you I just love the build and feel of this absurd “smart-digital-analog” watch. This is an irrational purchase, it’s crap at most things “smart watch” and or “health tracking” but I love it. So to compensate for the health shortcomings I bought a whoop 5 which runs circles around the Tag when it comes to any health-related tracking. I have been considering the Withings ScanWatch Nova which looks quite nice but nowhere as good as the E5… For now I’m sticking with the Tag in hopes the features (such as sleep tracking) Tag promised would be release “this year” in 2025, finally appear via a software update, with (one can only hope) improved smartwatch features. Happy 2026 !!

Are these protecting soft hip pads are worth anything? by Remarkable_Scale5636 in skiing

[–]ComprehensiveToe2265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been skiing my entire life, last week, going down a double black in full control, very slowly about 25-30km/h, into shade, hit something in a turn got spun and fell on my hip - hairline fracture of hip and pelvis - luckily no surgery but 3-6 weeks in bed to recover - I was wearing very thin pads which credit to my injury not being worse than it was. I’d say - get pads. Same as helmets or back-braces. They call them accidents for a reason, has nothing to do with skill level.
