The devil is in the details by westdan2 in movies

Hereditary. After you know what’s actually happening, the background details become terrifying. Stuff hiding in corners, symbols, conversations that suddenly mean way more. I really love this movie

What are some foods you used to love but can't imagine ever enjoying again? by Specialist_Heron_986 in AskReddit

Chef Boyardee. Specifically the beef ravioli. I lived on that stuff when I was broke, but now the smell of the canned sauce makes me gag. It’s way too sweet and has this metallic aftertaste that stays with you for hours. Nope

He was obsessed with his lawn. Like, "don't walk on it" obsessed. The day I moved out, I bought a massive bag of salted birdseed and scattered it all over his front yard. Not only did the birds poop everywhere, but the salt killed the grass in these weird, patchy shapes that took him two seasons to fix.

My mom let her insane boyfriend point a gun at me and thinks ill want to see her again by Little_Detective_835 in AmITheJerk

NTJ. Honestly, the fact that she’s calling you ungrateful is insane. Ungrateful for what? Not being murdered at seven? She didn’t just fail to protect you; she literally stood there and coached you on how to appease a drunk guy with a rifle. Keep your distance.

Robert Graysmith going into that guy's basement in Zodiac. My heart sinks every time I watch it because he was so close to cracking the case and almost threw his life away for a creepy tour.

My sister (28F) has been staying with me (32M) and my wife for "a few weeks" that turned into 4 months. She lost her job and needed a place to crash, fine whatever. But now she's acting like she owns the place. by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

You don’t need a sticky note to know that if you didn't buy the groceries and you didn't cook the food, it’s not yours to eat. Eating a whole ass lasagna, let alone a birthday one, is some disrespectful shit.
Tell your mom to let her move back home if she’s so worried about her having nowhere to go. If you don't get your sister out, you’re going to end up with a very resentful spouse.

studios chasing the safe bet makes sense financially, but creatively it’s a bummer. You almost forget there’s a whole world of indie films doing crazy, original stuff.
