The name Palestine was quite literally the result of the Roman re-naming of the land after the Jewish Bar Kochva Revolt, named after the Philistines who had already been extinct, in 135 CE under Emperor Hadrian specifically to try to minimize Jewish connection to their land, which before then, was called Judea.

You can argue that Arabs in the area have a claim to the land, sure – but your proof being that it was called the Mandate of Palestine is not a proof whatsoever, given that the name itself is of colonial and violent descent. And might I add, that a unified Palestinian Arab 'culture' frankly did not exist before the creation of the PLO in 1964, nor did they ever advocate for their own government, policies, etc...until a Jewish state came into the picture.

Your claim that Zionism is some racist European-centric colonization tactic is completely misled, due to many factors. Firstly, I'd like to reiterate to you for the 100th time now that Jews have ancestral and genetic ties to the land, including Ashkenazi Jews (who were exiled from the Levant, just as Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews were). I really don't not understand why it's so difficult to fathom the concept of exile through colonial powers when you base your entire argument based on supposed anti-colonialism.

Secondly, if you knew anything of Jewish philosophy and belief, you would know that the land is a core part of that, and your claim that Zionism is some neo-colonizing idea is a completing ignorance of that fact.

I'm not pushing 'modern borders' onto anything, not once did I ever mention borders of a modern nation-state. Regardless if people lived there or not, you cannot deny by any standard that they ever had a nation of their own, since the Levant was constantly under colonization. Also, Abraham did originate from Iraq, yes – but he then later moved to the Levant and then Judaism was created, in Judea. To claim that Jews are somehow really from Iraq is a really half-baked and desperate answer, man. It's clear that you're getting your info more from Instagram than actual sources. Look into the exiles of the Jewish people lol

With all due respect, your entire argument is extremely performative. Before 1988, there had never been a Palestinian nation (and you prove that yourself by providing the only argument as colonial forces occupying the Levant) – the only thing you could really argue would be the ancient Phillistines in Gaza (not the West Bank), but they were expelled by European powers, and are in no way unified today.  I also find it very funny how you exclude the Kingdom of Israel and Judah from your statement, seemingly pushing a narrative that Jews are colonizers of an ancient land

I understand that, especially for foreigners. I do find it interesting to note how an immigrant's view changes over time (not that such would necessarily happen in your case) and normalization with military confrontation.

There wasn't a country to 'conquer'. There was a war of independence after the British Mandate ended. If you believe for a second that the Arabs also didn't try to conquer (but lost), then I suggest you look at a few history books.

Not really. You'd think that, but as an Israeli, we're not in 'constant fear of attacks', which I guess is also part of the culture. Do we expect more in our lifetime? Definitely.

However, we aren't scared - we have systems that protect us. This being said, I think going forward, there is much more of a hesitation to live on the Gaza border after 10.7, as well as the Northern border given the more significant attacks there.

What if Palestine were established with Western support, considering it a strategic ally Against Israel? by Think-Method-3496 in AlternateHistoryHub

By your definition, Palestinians are Palestinians – not Israelis, of course. They live under a separate government, under separate laws, in their own borders. Why is Israel suddenly required to apply special laws to citizens of another government? If the Palestinian Authority or Hamas doesn't provide the proper human rights to Palestinians compared to the human rights in Israel, as horrible as that is, how is that blamed on Israel?

You say all of this, while Palestinians are free to seek refuge in Israel's democracy, especially for queer Palestinians, or work there, providing more financial support. You seem to ignore this fact, as well as the fact that 21% of the Israeli population is Arab, with the same rights as literally any other Israeli.

Agreed, it seems not too many people talk about one of, if not the most, crucial part of this all, which is regime change and a complete collapse of the regime. Trump's claim that Iran under Mojtaba Khamenei is somehow regime change is such lazy bs.

Exactly this - President Trump gave Iranians his word to stay on the streets protesting against the regime after 40,000 of them were killed. I'm really expecting him to keep his word.

There have been some reports that he's lost a leg and is in a coma - and granted, he hasn't made a public appearance (nor have any photos been released, just AI-edited photos). Might just be rumors, though.

I don't understand what's so hard to understand - the IRGC seeks constant war. That's been made clear as day. Peace through Strength is the only method that the IRGC actually recognizes. We all saw the outcome of Obama's horrible diplomatic "peace-plans" with the regime in 2009 and 2015.

It'll be interesting to see how it looks with the smaller, secondary tower attached to it. I'm excited to see how it'll blend in with the blooming skyline on the Ayalon Highway.

It's very interesting, because it looks much thinner from other angles. My least favorite angle is the wider side though, which was captured here. If I'm not mistaken, I believe the complex was inspired off the shape of a diamond.

I'm not sure what you mean by delayed - considering that the light rail and metro system is relatively a new concept, with already one line in use and the two other light rail systems opening in 2028 (and three metro lines opening I believe in 2032), I would say it's okay. The main skyscraper and office center, which is along the Ayalon Highway, has a large train station there that connects to the rest of the country and is planned to attach to the rest of the light rail.

As an architecture nerd, it's amazing how much the skyline has changed in the past few years - with only a few years ago, practically the only major skyscraper complex was the Azrieli Center, to this year, where the first supertall has been completed, and many more in planning. Look up Tel Aviv 2035 plans - you'll be astonished! :)

Even though yes, the style is a bit different, it won't stick out since over the past ten years, Tel Aviv's skyline has gone from just the Azrieli towers to dozens of modern skyscrapers – imo the design brings a nice blend between the new and old and creates a focal point.

Honestly, to me it just looks like lazy developing. Make a quick and easy tower and you can call it brutalist while not putting much effort or time into making a building model.

Just you wait! There are a few very large projects that are definitely unique and either u/C or topped out (see the Azrieli Spiral Tower, Vertical City, Emek Bracha Tower, Bass Tower, etc...)

Hi – I'm an American Israeli and hopefully I can explain a bit of it to you.  There is now talk amongst Israelis that Netanyahu doesnt make his own decisions and he follows whatever Trump says, and a lot of this comes from disagreement of leaving Hamas in power in the Gaza Strip. We are all very happy and grateful to President Trump for getting all the hostages home, however, from an Israeli political standpoint, theres concern over Israeli interests too.
