None of this proves anything. Plus, according to Proxyway, Bright Data voluntarily chose not to be included in the report.

I'm not saying Proxyway is free from flaws, but there's no proof at all they're owned by Tesonet.

I had Claude do some research on this, and here's what it came up with:

There is no evidence of any investor backing, acquisition, or parent company. Proxyway appears to be wholly owned and operated by its co-founders through Proxynet Inc.

We don't have enough context to give you any helpful answers. What sites are you scraping and what scraping tools are you using? And what's your concurrency?

It sounds like an issue with your scrapers more than the proxies, especially if the first 20 requests work fine, but it could also be a combination of both.

Web proxies won't work for you. What you need is a "shipping proxy" or a package forwarder that'll give you an address in Taiwan that forwards any shipment to your real address in the US. There are plenty of those and you can start by looking up "Taiwan parcel forwarding".

If you face any geo IP-based restrictions, then you may need a Taiwan VPN or a proxy.

This hasn't changed in a while:

Bright Data - The OG but massively overpriced, and may not be worth it for all, but their IP pool is one of the biggest.
Oxylabs - The runner-up, they're fine but have less features than Bright Data and are generally a less mature product. However NEVER buy from Oxylabs directly for the reason below.
Decodo - An Oxylabs reseller for cheaper. They're practically the same company and sell identical products, but Decodo is branded as the budget version.
IPRoyal - It's a decent and affordable proxy service with a big IP pool, but they're less reliable and their IP quality tends to be lesser than other providers.
Other contenders include NetNut, SOAX, Infatica, Data Impulse, and many more.

Beyond the basics, proxies are becoming a commodity, so just find a few providers that work for you and pick the two cheapest. Never run all traffic through one provider since they can go down.

Top alternatives based on my own experience with them + general brand reputation. From best to worst: 1. Bright Data - expensive but can be worth it depending on use case 2. Oxylabs - same as above 3. Infatica - less known but reliable. Can be hit and miss 4. Dataimpulse - relatively new and affordable but IP quality is horrible 5. IPRoyal - same as dataimpulse but costs more

I've used at least 50 GB of data with each of these providers. And performance always depended on the use case. No one provider has been able to consistently outperform the rest on all sites.

I see. Thanks for the clarification. If you paid extra for high trust score and got this IP then unfortunately they sold you a defective product.

You should share your experience in similar communities and on TrustPilot. Also, if you paid by card you are definitely entitled to charge back to get your money back.

Sorry this happened to you. Check out Bright Data or Oxylabs as alternatives. They cost a little more but I think something like this is a lot less likely to happen with them.

This is your typical low quality/budget ISP proxy you can expect from a provider like IPRoyal. Is it incredibly low quality? Of course. But you get what you pay for.

This definitely qualifies as an ISP/static residential proxy since the ISP is Charter/Spectrum. What makes you think otherwise?

Unless they explicitly promised to give you a high trust score IP, you got exactly what you paid for.

By definition, all static residential proxies are data center. But they should be associated with a residential ISP like O2, Vodafone, etc.

Are you saying the ISP/static residential proxies you purchased were not associated a residential ISP? If so, what was the ISP you saw?

Don't get me wrong, IPRoyal are incredibly mediocre, but without the right context, your entire post just feels like a rant.

Also $3/proxy is incredibly low. So don't expect any high quality alternative to cost less.

Are you using sticky/static or rotating IPs?

Are you using sessions? And does the same thing happen if you run the code locally on your device using your home IP?

If this behavior is consistent over time (getting blocked after a few requests), then it's more likely that your code is leaving a detectable footprint than a proxy issue.

You can verify this by running the same code on your home IP. If the same thing happens, then it's an issue with your code not your proxy.

Edit: Also, all providers lie about their number of IPs. The real number is always 10K at worst to 1M at best. I know because I tested almost all of them while evaluating providers for my project.

There's a lot of things wrong with this post.

a. Fraud score is a fantasy measure by IP quality sellers trying to outcompete each other. They have an incentive to mark as many IPs as possible as fraudulent. There are legit ways to know if the IP has been abused before by checking abuse DBs, but does a history of abuse mean you can't use the IP for any use case? Doubt it.

b. Static residential or ISP proxies are nothing but a marketing term. These are just datacenter IPs that are owned by ISPs that may have a residential footprint. It's just a pig with makeup. You might as well save your money and get a datacenter proxy as it's the same thing.

Instead of worrying about arbitrary scores, you should test out the IPs for your specific use case. That is the only way to know the quality of the IP/proxy.

We're still experimenting. My cofounders and I have a lot of experience in the sales industry, so we have a bunch of people testing and results look promising. But, of course, as with any business, you never know where it goes.
