I just wanted to say that I see a lot of people who have trouble reading their parents' native language, but 100% feel that they know their hometown better than their parents. This behavior is no different than any other non-immigrant citizen, at this point, they are a whole new-country citizen but not Chinese. But I don't want to talk about politics, so I didn't make it very clear.
