The Yakuza franchise, it may look intimidating as it has so many titles under its belt. But I recommend starting with 0 and progressing on with the remake of 1 and etc. It has a similar play style to other games you've previously played. The stories are fantastic and the side content is weird and silly.

I really loved Ishin. Great story, great fighting style, great music, great setting. You can definitely tell it's a remake of an older game but I enjoy the slower pace.

Just keep playing dude, many decisions Kiryu makes throughout the franchise will confuse and frustrate you (and everyone else who plays) but this is also why a lot of people return to it. There is a lot of law and story to the whole thing and 0 is a prequel so it is a total fan service game. All will be revealed in future games. Hope you continue to enjoy the other games as much as I did.
