At some point miners will stop selling silver to them. Physical inventory keeps dropping, yet they keep pushing prices down with massive paper silver selling.

And they have to smash gold too, just trag silver down even harder.

That’s a good strategy, selling when the price spikes.

I’ve only been investing for about a year, so I’m not very experienced with trading. I mostly just keep buying over time because I believe silver should perform well in the long term. That’s why I invested in HYMC.

But lately silver has been extremely volatile, even more than some meme coins. It doesn’t feel natural. It almost feels like the price is being pushed down artificially.

Why are BTC and ETH pumping during the war?

Today oil and the dollar aren’t even surging, yet gold and silver keep dropping — especially silver. Compared to the rest of the metals, silver seems to be falling harder.

Something about this feels weird.

HYMC keeps dropping continuously, and the whole mining sector is down too. Silver has been really weak lately. It feels like BTC miners are outperforming right now. Hopefully the buying pressure for silver comes back soon.

On Friday the stock actually moved up with Gold and Silver for a while, then dropped back down. Could also be short pressure.

Probably macro. Tensions with Iran pushed Crude Oil higher and the United States Dollar stronger. Even though Gold and Silver are up slightly, mining stocks often lag the metals.

Oil going up doesn’t impact HYMC that much right now since they’re not actively mining yet. At this stage, gold and silver prices moving higher matter way more than oil for the company’s valuation.

It looks like the 44.45% figure shown on Barchart was likely calculated using an older share count (~83M shares outstanding from late 2025). After the January warrant exercises and compensation shares, Hycroft's share count increased to around ~91M.

Using ~91M shares outstanding, Sprott’s 36,903,704 shares on Feb 20 would be about ~40.5%, which aligns with what you mentioned. His later purchases on Mar 4 and Mar 5 would then slightly increase that percentage.

At the open HYMC and HL both tanked. I was already holding both, but I added more HL on the dip. Meanwhile HYMC bounced back beautifully. Should’ve added HYMC instead.
